Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated Cannabis Dispensary Assistant Store Manager (ASM) to lead our retail team with enthusiasm and expertise. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily dispensary operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain compliance with industry regulations. Your leadership will drive sales, manage inventory, and foster a positive environment that promotes growth and teamwork. Duties Lead and supervise dispensary staff, including training, coaching, and developing team members to achieve sales goals and uphold company standards Oversee daily store operations such as cash handling, POS transactions, inventory management, and merchandising to ensure smooth workflow Manage purchasing, stock replenishment, inventory control, and pricing strategies to optimize product availability and profitability Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations related to cannabis sales, including record-keeping and security protocols Conduct employee interviews, onboarding sessions, and ongoing training to foster a knowledgeable and compliant team Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using excellent communication skills and phone etiquette Implement marketing initiatives to promote products and enhance store visibility within the community Requirements Proven management experience in retail sales or store management, preferably in a regulated industry such as cannabis or grocery stores Strong leadership skills with experience supervising teams and managing shift operations Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of POS systems, inventory management software, and retail math principles Exceptional communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers Experience with employee orientation, training & development, recruiting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and merchandising Demonstrated ability in negotiation, sales management, pricing strategies, and customer service excellence Familiarity with retail math calculations related to sales targets, inventory levels, and financial reporting Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience in retail or grocery store settings is highly desirable Strong organizational skills combined with time management expertise to prioritize tasks efficiently
