Salary:
$18.00- $19.50SUMMARY The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money. General Merchandise (GM) Manager is responsible for general merchandise and health/beauty products, including full knowledge of product lines and location in store, as well as responsibility for ordering, receiving, stocking, rotating, cutting, and marking product. Manager is also responsible for escorting customer to location of desired product and/or service desk for further assistance while providing attentive and courteous customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding GM operations, safety, and sanitation Fulfill or oversee weekly product orders while adhering to store policy in order to maintain adequate supply levels Adhere to company policy through proper receiving, handling, storing, and stocking of product Achieve financial goals such as sales, gross profit maximization, as well as minimization of shrink and supply expense Maintain proper shelf conditions in regards to pricing, cleaning, straightening, rotating, and facing of product Adhere to shelf management as it applies to following suggested plan-o-gram layouts and new/discontinued products Selection, training, development and scheduling of GM associates File all necessary paperwork required for the General Merchandise department Help keep the backroom clean and orderly by organizing GM area, making bales, stacking pallets etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years of age
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions Possess basic computer skills Possess strong communication skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
