This leadership role is responsible for helping drive sales, delivering exceptional customer service, developing team members, and ensuring operational excellence throughout the store. The Assistant Store Manager will serve as a key leader on the sales floor, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and outstanding customer experience. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Partner with the Store Manager to build and maintain a high-performing sales and service culture. Assist in developing and implementing team member development plans to achieve individual and store sales goals. Conduct coaching sessions and one-on-one meetings to provide feedback, reinforce expectations, and support professional growth. Participate in performance evaluations, goal setting, and career development discussions. Lead by example through active floor presence, customer engagement, and operational excellence. Sales & Business Performance Monitor daily, weekly, monthly, and annual sales performance against established goals. Communicate sales results and key performance indicators to the team while identifying opportunities for improvement. Support sales initiatives, client outreach, and promotional activities that drive revenue and customer loyalty. Assist the Store Manager in developing action plans to achieve business objectives. Operations & Merchandising Support day-to-day store operations to ensure efficient execution of company standards. Oversee merchandising execution and maintain store presentation according to company guidelines. Ensure pricing, signage, product displays, and inventory presentation are accurate and visually appealing. Support inventory management, receiving, stock organization, and operational compliance. Financial Responsibilities Reconcile daily cash deposits accurately and maintain monthly cash tracking records. Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed and assist with loss prevention initiatives. Support operational reporting and administrative responsibilities as needed. Product Knowledge & Customer Experience Maintain and continually expand wine, spirits, and beverage knowledge through ongoing education and training. Participate in company product knowledge sessions and vendor-led educational programs. Deliver exceptional customer service by providing knowledgeable recommendations and personalized assistance. Build long-term customer relationships that encourage repeat business and loyalty. Events & Cross-Functional Collaboration Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing in-store tastings, educational events, and promotional activities. Collaborate with Buying and Marketing teams to support successful event execution and merchandising initiatives.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficiency with retail point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Passion for wine and commitment to continuous product education.
