Metro Mattress is seeking an energetic and motivated Assistant Store Manager to oversee daily operations, drive sales, and foster a positive shopping experience at our flagship location in Webster, NY. This has been one of our top locations for years and we are looking for a strong sales manager to take it to the next level. In this position you will be on the sales floor as the primary salesperson leading a small team towards revenue goals. As an hourly plus commission environment, you won't have a draw to worry about and you have the ability to control your own income in a warm lead atmosphere. If you thrive in performance-based, guest facing sales environments, excel in a team culture, and possess a talent for people and customer service, this opportunity is perfect for you! Duties Lead all aspects of store operations, including driving sales and hitting KPIs Work with Store Manager to ensure store is scheduled appropriately and achieving goals Oversee store execution, inventory management, and operations Foster a welcoming environment by providing exceptional customer service and resolving escalated issues promptly. Coordinate deliveries and pick-ups smoothly between customers, sales, and operations Utilize strong communication skills to motivate staff and maintain organizational alignment with company goals Ensure compliance with safety standards, store policies, and legal regulations at all times Skills Proven management experience in mattress and/or furniture environment with proven sales results Strong leadership qualities and positive mindset Excellent organizational skills coupled with effective time management to handle multiple priorities seamlessly Proficiency in retail math, budgeting, sales management, and retail store operations Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, inventory management, and merchandising strategies Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, cashiering, and store bookkeeping Exceptional communication skills including phone etiquette and customer service excellence
