Organize and manage human and technical resources in the Corrugator department to achieve productivity, quality and waste targets, with minimum cost while respecting safety, hygiene and environment policies. Lead strategic continuous improvement and succession planning in the department.Responsibilities:
Understand equipment operation, capability, and use. Demonstrate health and safety leadership and compliance. Interpret information in decision making and identify key problems to solve. Understand and apply knowledge of World Class Manufacturing tools and SPS. Fully understand company systems and adhere to implemented processes. Work as effective department manager, leading, guiding, and motivating the team. Delegate as appropriate. Communicate well at all levels, share ideas and contribute to the team effort. Take the initiative to problem solve, challenge and improve to deliver the agreed targets. Ensure compliance with the company Safety, Hygiene and Environmental policies. Investigate and take corrective action on near misses and accidents. Own risk assessments in the department. Manage attendance. Take the lead on any disciplinary issues. Identify training needs of their staff and co-ordinate the implementation of the training using the defined methodology. Crosstrain operators as much as possible to enable a flexible work force. Proactively identify areas of risk, implement improvement plans, and ensure compliance with quality standards. Own customer complaint investigations with regards to converting. Analyze data and implement improvement action plans to meet or exceed machine targets, utilizing other departments as needed. Implement, encourage and sustain SPS. Liaise with Production Manager on long term strategic improvement plans. Ensure SOPs are respected and machines are in proper condition (including preventative and corrective maintenance). Implement the use of improvement tools in the department for speeds, sets, down time & waste. Lead an effective continuous improvement process. Experience in a leadership role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably in a corrugated board packaging environment . Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing tools. Ability to lead and motivate teams to consistently meet and exceed expectations. Relevant IT system knowledge (GPT, MS Office suite, T&A system). Excellent strategic planning and organizational skills. Ability to generate innovative solutions to work situations. Professional, proactive and flexible approach with a great work ethic. A role model at all times. Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a professional, positive outlook. Good leadership and management skills.
