Job Description
Production Department Manager Timpl has partnered with a global battery manufacturing industry to recruit a Production Department Manager. The Production Manager's primary role is to ensure the assembly operation consistently produces quality products safely, on time, and at the lowest practical cost while developing the workforce and driving continuous improvement. To achieve this goal, he/she is responsible for the overall management of production operations, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, cost, and workforce objectives are achieved.
Production Planning and Execution:
- Review production schedules and customer demand requirements. Ensure assembly lines are staffed and equipped to meet production targets.
- Monitor production output, efficiency, and adherence to schedules. Adjust resources and priorities to address production challenges and changing requirements. Coordinate shift activities to maximize productivity. Safety Management
- Promote and enforce all safety policies and procedures. Review safety performance and investigate incidents. Ensure corrective actions are implemented for safety concerns. Conduct plant walkthroughs to identify and eliminate hazards. Foster a culture of continuous safety improvement. Quality Oversight
- Monitor product quality and manufacturing processes. Review quality metrics, scrap rates, and defect trends. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for quality issues. Ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards. Support internal and external audits. Workforce Leadership
- Supervise team leaders, supervisors, and production personnel.
- Coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
- Develop action plans to address performance gaps.
