Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Associate Lead/Shift Lead to join our retail team. Responsibilities Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service. Assist customers with domestic and international shipping services. Pack customer items according to The UPS Store packing standards. Process Amazon and other carrier/retailer returns. Assist customers with printing, copying, scanning, faxing, shredding, mailbox, notary, and other business services. Accurately process POS transactions and handle cash and credit card payments. Actively upsell and cross-sell products and services based on each customer's needs. Educate customers about Air, Ground, packing, printing, mailbox, and other available services. Look for opportunities to increase sales while providing the customer with the most appropriate solution. Help maintain store sales, average-ticket, and service-performance goals. Assist the Store Manager with daily store operations. Provide direction and guidance to Store Associates during assigned shifts. Ensure employees complete assigned opening, closing, cleaning, stocking, consolidation, and operational duties. Help ensure store procedures and service standards are followed. Follow instructions and duties assigned by the Store Manager, Assistant Manager, or other designated management/leadership personnel. Help resolve routine customer concerns and escalate issues to management when appropriate. Maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and professional store environment. Assist with receiving, sorting, consolidating, and managing packages and returns. Help train and support new Store Associates when requested. Ensure assigned shift responsibilities are completed before the end of the shift. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous supervisory or assistant management experience within the retail industry is highly preferred. Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage teams effectively and motivate staff toward common goals. Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases. Demonstrated proficiency in retail math, basic accounting principles such as payroll and bookkeeping, and POS systems operation. Knowledge of inventory management techniques including stock control, purchasing, and merchandising strategies. Experience with retail sales management tools such as pricing strategies and sales reporting software. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Organizational skills with attention to detail in store operations, stock management, and shift supervision. Flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends; previous cashiering or grocery store experience is advantageous. Experience with sales or customer-facing upselling is a plus. Physical Requirements This position may require: Standing for extended periods. Regularly lifting and moving packages. Bending, reaching, and moving throughout the store.
