An Assistant Retail Store Manager provides support to the Manager of a retail store, either an independent business or a store that is part of a large retail chain. May have primary responsibility for hiring and training retail sales staff. Reviews and monitors merchandise sales, inventory and prices, and directs advertising and promotions. Supervises sales, warehouse, cleaning, maintenance and security staff and prepares work schedules. Responsible for resolving customer complaints.
The Assistant Operations Manager will work collaboratively with the Operations Manager to provide daily oversight and management of the restaurant. Duties & Responsibilities Schedule staff effectively to meet operational needs and manage labor costs. Recruit, train, and develop a team of employees, fostering a positive work environment. Conducts regular performance evaluations and provides constructive feedback. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with restaurant policy. Ensures an exceptional dining experience by interacting with guests and addressing any concerns promptly. Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty. Build and maintain relationships with local vendors and the community. Ensures compliance with alcoholic beverage regulations. Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality. Maintains sales records and tracks cash receipts. Work collaboratively with kitchen management to ensure efficient service, appropriate ticket times, and preparation for service. Implement and uphold health and safety regulations. Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient service. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills & Abilities Ability to lead a diverse team and foster a positive, collaborative work environment. Strong verbal and written communication for interacting with staff, customers, and suppliers. Quick decision-making abilities to address issues as they arise. Strong understanding of restaurant operations, financial management, and customer service principles. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous restaurant experience required; management experience preferred. Previous bar and kitchen experience preferred. ServSafe Certification. Successful completion of Smoked's training program is required. Requirements Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly. Passion for food, hospitality, and community engagement. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends. Long hours and holidays as needed. Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
