Based in Meadville, PA for over 20 years, this growing SME supplies into the aerospace, commercial instrumentation and defense and security markets. About the
Role:
Are you a proven team leader who excels at bringing structure, accountability, and clear communication to a fast-paced production environment? Our manufacturing facility is seeking a motivated, hands-on Bonding Department Lead to oversee daily department operations and drive team performance. You do not need previous optical or bonding experience to apply. We are looking for a true leader who can Lead, Manage, and hold people Accountable (LMA) . We will provide all the technical training you need in our specific bonding processes; your job is to lead the team, manage the workflow, and assess the department's success. What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities): Lead, Manage & Hold Accountable (LMA): Direct daily shift operations, provide clear instruction, coach team members, and foster a positive, accountable work environment.
Daily Workflow & Scheduling:
Ensure daily production targets, quality standards, and labor allocations are met across the department.
Team Development & Training:
Onboard new team members, track skill progression, and conduct regular check-ins and performance evaluations.
Process & Quality Oversight:
Partner with production management and quality control to maintain high safety, cleanroom/shop floor standards, and minimal scrap/rework.
Continuous Improvement:
Lead daily huddles, address operational bottlenecks, and drive lean, efficient workflow habits within the team.
Cross-Department Communication:
Serve as the main point of contact for the department, collaborating with HR, and facility leadership to keep operations running smoothly. What We Are Looking For (Qualifications):
Leadership Experience:
2+ years of experience leading, supervising, or managing teams in a manufacturing, production, assembly, or fast-paced operational environment.
Strong LMA Mindset:
Proven ability to set clear expectations, communicate effectively, resolve team friction, and hold employees accountable to core values and performance standards.
Trainability:
A willingness and capacity to learn technical processes hands-on alongside your team.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting daily operational challenges.
Reliability:
Consistent attendance, strong work ethic, and ability to lead by example on the floor.
