ABOUT HUSTLE HOOPS
Hustle Hoops is an active basketball, fitness, and events facility located in Warminster, Pennsylvania. Our facility serves youth athletes, adult members, families, teams, trainers, leagues, rental customers, and event guests. We are seeking a dependable, confident, and customer-focused Assistant Manager who can lead employees, manage facility operations, and actively contribute to membership and program growth.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Manager serves as the Manager on Duty during assigned shifts. This person is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, welcoming, and well-organized facility while directing on-duty employees and delivering an excellent experience for members and guests. The ideal candidate is comfortable leading people, resolving customer concerns, enforcing facility policies, supporting sales, and staying actively involved throughout the facility.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead assigned opening, closing, evening, weekend, and peak-period shifts. Direct on-duty employees and assign facility zones, cleaning responsibilities, breaks, and operational tasks. Conduct shift huddles and communicate schedules, events, priorities, and facility needs. Walk and inspect the basketball courts, fitness area, turf, locker areas, lounge, party room, restrooms, equipment, and other public spaces. Maintain strong standards for safety, cleanliness, customer service, and facility presentation. Stop unsafe activity and follow approved emergency procedures when necessary. Manage transitions between open gym, training, rentals, parties, leagues, programs, and special events. Greet customers, answer questions, conduct facility tours, and explain approved memberships, programs, training options, and services. Identify sales opportunities, capture prospective-customer information, and complete assigned follow-up. Help convert customer interest into memberships, training packages, camps, leagues, parties, rentals, and other qualifying services. Maintain accurate sales records so commissions and incentives can be properly attributed. Resolve routine customer concerns and document refunds or account credits issued within company policy. Monitor employee attendance, performance, task completion, and compliance with facility standards. Coach employees during the shift and document significant performance or operational issues. Complete opening and closing checklists, shift reports, incident reports, cash controls, and facility-security procedures. Reconcile payment activity and document cash or system discrepancies. Report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, safety hazards, supply needs, and unresolved customer issues. Take ownership of one assigned operational specialty, such as membership sales and guest experience, facility operations and cleanliness, or programs and events.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least one year of experience in customer service, sales, recreation, fitness, hospitality, retail, events, or facility operations. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to confidently lead employees and manage an active facility. Strong customer-service, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify customer needs and confidently explain relevant memberships, programs, and services. Ability to enforce policies calmly, consistently, and professionally. Ability to document incidents and complete operational reports accurately. Comfort using scheduling, registration, payment, CRM, and timekeeping systems. Reliable attendance and transportation. Availability for at least two weekday evenings and one weekend shift. Ability to obtain required Pennsylvania criminal-background and child-abuse clearances. Ability to obtain CPR/AED and basic first-aid certification within 30 days of hire. Ability to stand and walk throughout an active sports facility and perform opening, closing, inspection, and emergency-response responsibilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous shift-lead, supervisory, or team-lead experience. Sales, membership, or customer-conversion experience. Experience in basketball, youth sports, fitness, recreation, rentals, leagues, camps, parties, or event operations. Experience working in a busy customer-facing environment.
COMPENSATION AND INCOME POTENTIAL
Assistant Managers receive: A guaranteed base rate of $17 per hour for all authorized working hours. Fixed incentives for qualifying memberships, training packages, assessments, camps, leagues, AAU registrations, birthday parties, rentals, and organizational referrals. An additional monthly sales commission of up to 3% on qualifying personally attributed revenue. The ability to earn applicable fixed incentives and monthly commission on the same qualifying transaction. Clear sales tracking and documented commission attribution. Commission payments after the applicable sale has been collected, documented, and validated. The commission structure gives motivated Assistant Managers the opportunity to earn income beyond their regular hourly wages. Actual commission earnings will depend on individual sales activity, qualifying collected revenue, proper documentation, and compliance with the approved compensation plan.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
The selected candidate will complete a structured 60-day onboarding and certification process covering: Facility operations and safety Customer-service expectations Staff leadership Opening and closing procedures Scheduling and registration systems Cash and payment controls Sales presentations and lead follow-up Commission attribution and CRM documentation Incident reporting Emergency procedures Supervised opening, closing, and peak-period shifts Independent Manager-on-Duty assignments begin after successful training and written approval.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires frequent standing and walking throughout an active sports facility. Employees work around children, families, crowds, noise, active basketball play, sports equipment, and cleaning products. Evening and weekend work is a regular part of the position. The role may require moving ordinary facility supplies and equipment.
