This leadership position combines psychological assessment, Board-compliant clinical supervision, report review, staff development, and quality assurance. The Assessment Supervisor will serve as the designated supervisor for assigned psychological associates, psychological assistants, practicum students, and other eligible prelicensed employees. The psychologist must be willing and eligible to carry assigned employees under their license and assume the professional responsibilities required by the California Board of Psychology. The successful candidate will help ensure that assessments are clinically sound, culturally responsive, completed on time, and compliant with professional, ethical, legal, contractual, and organizational standards. Schedule and Caseload This position requires approximately 20 hours per week.
The anticipated workload includes:
Completing approximately two to three comprehensive psychological assessments per month . Providing weekly individual and/or group supervision to assigned assessment clinicians. Reviewing and approving assessment plans, test results, diagnoses, recommendations, and final reports. Remaining available for consultation regarding complex, ethical, diagnostic, or risk-management matters. Participating in assessment-team meetings, training, and quality-improvement activities. The caseload may be adjusted based on the complexity of assigned evaluations, number of supervisees, report-review responsibilities, contractual deadlines, and organizational needs. Primary ResponsibilitiesBoard and Licensure Supervision Serve as the designated primary or delegated supervisor for psychological associates, psychological assistants, practicum students, and other eligible prelicensed employees. Carry assigned supervisees under the psychologist's license and assume the professional responsibilities required by the California Board of Psychology. Comply with all current California Board of Psychology statutes, regulations, supervision requirements, and professional guidelines. Complete and maintain required supervision agreements, plans, evaluations, verification forms, and related Board documentation. Provide the type, frequency, and amount of supervision required by the Board and applicable law. Remain reasonably available to supervisees for consultation and arrange appropriate coverage when unavailable. Ensure that the number of assigned supervisees remains within applicable Board limits and allows for effective supervision. Monitor each supervisee's registration status, authorized scope of practice, supervised professional experience, and applicable renewal requirements. Review and approve clinical services, assessment work, documentation, and reports completed by assigned supervisees. Ensure that supervisees practice only within their competence, training, authorized scope, and level of supervision. Promptly report performance, competency, ethical, safety, or compliance concerns to organizational leadership. Maintain an active and unrestricted California psychologist license throughout employment. Immediately disclose any investigation, disciplinary action, limitation, lapse, or other change that could affect the psychologist's ability to practice or supervise. Psychological Assessment Conduct autism, ADHD, intellectual and developmental disability, learning, emotional, behavioral, personality, and neuropsychological evaluations within the psychologist's areas of competence. Review referral questions and approve clinically appropriate assessment plans. Oversee the administration, scoring, interpretation, and integration of psychological testing. Review and approve psychological reports before submission to clients, families, referral sources, Regional Centers, healthcare organizations, schools, attorneys, or other contracting entities. Ensure that diagnoses and recommendations are supported by testing data, clinical interviews, behavioral observations, records, and collateral information. Provide consultation regarding differential diagnosis and complex clinical presentations. Ensure that evaluations account for the client's language, culture, identity, developmental level, disability status, and presenting needs. Conduct feedback sessions or support supervisees in communicating assessment findings and recommendations. Quality Assurance and Program Leadership Monitor assessment assignments, report deadlines, clinician productivity, and completion requirements. Ensure that reports are accurate, organized, clinically supported, culturally responsive, and responsive to the referral question. Provide constructive feedback and help clinicians strengthen their testing, diagnostic, and report-writing skills. Protect the confidentiality and security of testing materials, protocols, raw data, and clinical records. Ensure compliance with informed-consent, documentation, record-retention, payer, and contractual requirements. Support the onboarding and competency evaluation of new assessment clinicians. Lead assessment consultation meetings, case conferences, and training activities. Assist with developing assessment templates, procedures, workflows, and quality standards. Participate in chart audits, utilization reviews, corrective-action plans, and contract-compliance activities. Collaborate with clinical leadership and administrative staff regarding scheduling, caseloads, report completion, testing resources, and operational concerns. Minimum Qualifications Doctoral degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, school psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Current, active, and unrestricted California psychologist license. Eligibility and willingness to serve as the Board-designated supervisor for assigned prelicensed employees. Experience conducting comprehensive psychological assessments. Strong knowledge of psychological testing, psychometrics, differential diagnosis, and evidence-based assessment practices. Demonstrated ability to produce and review high-quality psychological reports. Knowledge of applicable ethical, legal, confidentiality, documentation, and supervision standards. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Ability to provide constructive feedback and address performance or compliance concerns. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet required deadlines. Successful completion of all required background, credentialing, and employment-verification processes. Preferred Qualifications At least three years of post-licensure assessment experience. Previous experience supervising psychological associates, psychological assistants, trainees, or practicum students. Experience with autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, developmental, neuropsychological, forensic, immigration, or Regional Center evaluations. Training and experience with measures such as the ADOS-2, WAIS, WISC, WPPSI, Leiter, Vineland, BASC, Conners, MMPI, PAI, and related instruments. Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. Experience with quality assurance, audits, clinical program development, or contract compliance.Pay:
