CNC Supervisor Employment type: Full-Time, 2nd Shift Reports to: Plant Manager InsulFab Plastics is a Spartanburg-based specialty manufacturer known for tight-tolerance CNC machining and stamping of high-performance plastic materials. Our PCB Tooling division specializes in custom printed circuit board assembly fixtures for the electronic contract manufacturing industry. Monday through Thursday, 3:15 PM to 1:45 AM - a 4-day work week with a 3-day weekend every week. Overtime opportunities are available during busier periods for those who want to earn more. The position also includes a 401(k) with up to 5% company match. Job Summary InsulFab is seeking an experienced CNC Department 2nd Shift Supervisor to lead our CNC manufacturing team. This position is responsible for overseeing daily 2nd-shift production, supporting CNC machine setup, programming, developing and coaching CNC operators, and ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of CNC leadership experience , strong technical knowledge, and the ability to lead a team while maintaining a hands-on approach to production. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily CNC department operations on 2nd shift. Lead, train, coach, and develop CNC operators and other department employees. Ensure production schedules, quality requirements, and productivity goals are met. Assist with CNC machine setups, tooling, offsets, and troubleshooting. Support CNC programming and adjust as needed to maintain production and quality. Monitor machine performance, production output, scrap, downtime, and efficiency. Review and address quality issues and ensure parts are produced according to specifications. Promote and enforce safe work practices and company safety procedures. Identify production problems and implement effective solutions. Communicate production status, issues, and priorities with management and other shifts. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment using 6S protocols. Ensure employees follow company policies, work instructions, and quality procedures. Assist with scheduling and assigning work based on production priorities and employee capabilities. Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. Qualifications 5+ years of CNC leadership or supervisory experience required. Strong hands-on CNC machining experience. Experience with CNC machine setup and troubleshooting. Working knowledge of CNC programming and machining processes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications. Strong understanding of tooling, cutting conditions, offsets, and inspection methods. Previous experience leading, training, and developing CNC employees. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple production needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong communication and organizational skills. Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a CNC Lead, CNC Supervisor, CNC Manager, or similar leadership role. Experience with Fanuc and Haas controls. Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Experience with Mastercam. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S/6S, or continuous improvement programs. Experience working in a high-volume or precision manufacturing environment.
