This role helps drive sales, maintain product quality and freshness, reduce shrink, and deliver excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities Assist with daily Meat department operations, including production, stocking, case presentation, and product rotation Support supervision, training, and development of Meat department associates Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, handling, and temperature control standards Assist with ordering, receiving, inventory management, and shrink control Maintain proper cutting, wrapping, labeling, pricing, and markdown procedures Help execute promotional plans, ads, and merchandising standards Monitor product quality, freshness, and department cleanliness throughout the day Support scheduling, task delegation, and workload coverage to meet business needs Provide excellent customer service, including responding to product questions and special orders Communicate department performance, issues, and opportunities to store and department leadership Uphold safety standards and participate in store‑wide safety and loss prevention initiatives Qualifications Previous Meat department or fresh food retail experience required Prior leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred Knowledge of meat cutting, food safety, and handling procedures Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in refrigerated environments Ability to safely operate Meat department equipment Flexibility to work varying shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Core Competencies Freshness and quality control Operational execution Team leadership and accountability Safety and compliance focus Customer service excellence
Pay Transparency:
Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay- , PTO/Vacation pay
