Job Summary Oversees the receipt, storage and issuance of supplies, materials, equipment, and merchandise to ensure effectiveoperation and maintenance of supply room, warehouse, or storage room, or provides support to mechanics involved inautomotive repair by storing, shipping, receiving, marking and pulling automotive parts from warehouse supplies or,provides support to mechanics involved in automotive repair by storing, shipping, receiving, marking and pullingautomotive parts from warehouse supplies. Job Description Overview The Storekeeper oversees and monitors the receipt, storage, and issuance of supplies, materials, equipment, tools, parts, and merchandise for the City and its departments. Essential Functions 1 Receives, organizes, stores, and delivers materials and supplies ordered through various sources and for various departments; ensures the daily operation and maintenance of supply or store room, warehouse, or storage yard. 2 Orders, procures, and gathers a variety of office supplies, forms, nametags, etc. for department use; purchases office supplies as needed and maintains a firm inventory on current supply stock. 3 Delivers and picks up supplies, materials and reports from various locations to expedite the procurement and disbursement of essential items; ensures all appropriate documentation is complete for the transfer of equipment and the filling of orders and requests. 4 Maintains and checks inventory to ensure that all equipment is in working order; conducts daily inspections to ensure services and warehouse operations are in compliance with all regulations; attends meetings and training classes to remain up to date on all procedures, environmental policies, and safety procedures. 5 Operates various equipment to move or transport supplies and materials to other yards, vendors, workstations, or supply rooms. 6 Stocks and stores supplies, materials and equipment in designated areas for efficient retrieval and maintains storage spaces and warehouse areas; inventories materials and supplies to ensure proper stock levels and quantities are maintained. 7 Pulls tire and wheel assemblies from storage warehouse for delivery to service center; pulls parts from stock, posts to repair orders, and delivers to mechanics repairing City vehicles. 8 Prepares parts for return to manufacturer, receives salvaged or repaired parts into stock, affixes identification labels to parts, performs physical inventory, and performs any other shipping or receiving operations. 9 Enters all inventory and supply data into inventory tracking system; keeps accurate records on all purchases, deliveries, and general fixed asset inventory. 10 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned. Knowledge and Skills 1 Knowledge of storekeeping/inventory systems, methods, and procedures or the use of computerized tracking files. 2 Knowledge of supply room methods and practices. 3 Ability to keep routine supply room records. 4 Ability to do heavy lifting and carrying. 5 Ability to read, write, and speak English; do simple math and to understand and follow oral and written instructions. 6 Ability to communicate with peers, vendors, and contractors. 7 Ability to create and use record keeping systems (alpha., numerical, or chronological) 8 Ability to use technically oriented parts catalogs and reference manuals. 9 Complex knowledge of parts and tools used in automotive repair. 10 Knowledge of petty cash and purchasing policies and procedures. 11 Communicating effectively verbally and in writing. 12 Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Minimum Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE
Six (6) months of experience in storekeeping, warehousing, automotive parts or sales, or catalog/direct sales, which involved shipping, receiving and/or inventory responsibilities.
LICENSE:
Valid driver's license with good driving record.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Some positions require availability to work nights, weekends and holidays shifts. Some positions require an intensive background check. Must be able to lift/carry up to 75 pounds. No FELONY or Class
A MISDEMEANOR
convictions. No Class
B MISDEMEANOR
convictions within the last ten (10) years. Cannot currently be on deferred adjudication for any FELONY, Class A or Class
B MISDEMEANOR. PREFERENCES
Experience with a computerized inventory system is a plus. Experience with entering data into an inventory control system is preferred. Salary Range $44,720.00 - $44,720.00 The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
