GIGG Express Inc. is looking to hire a team-oriented Shop Supervisor to join our Laredo Shop Department. In this role, the Shop Supervisor oversees shop functions, assets, supervises work activities, equipment preventative maintenance and equipment repairs, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Shift:
Monday - Friday Weekends availability as needed
Pay:
Negotiable, Based on experience and qualifications.
Job Duties:
Oversee a diverse group of heavy equipment mechanics, Trailer Mechanics, and Support Staff. Receive and act on requests regarding repairs and supplies required Quality Assurance and Quality Control of ensuring reactive and preventative maintenance of Fleet Prioritize Maintenance, Repair and Welding to all equipment based on a produced priority list Schedule and supervise shop's activities to ensure maximum productivity Schedule heavy duty field mechanics (third party mechanics/welders when required) Conducting periodic spot checks on completed jobs for thoroughness and repair quality Providing leadership to the shop team to focus on creating the highest level of customer service for the company Address any and all concerns raised by reporting staff including but not limited to; job specific requirements, applicable codes and legislation, safety concerns, etc. Order parts,Build up good relationship with Parts Vendors, prepare POs as required and overlook parts department and inventory. Ensure fleet is maintained to government and company requirements Maintain company facilities in a clean, safe and environmentally sound manner Assist Operations Manager with the Dispatch of trucks and trailers. If required, visit high priority projects and provide field mechanic support - as only required
Licenses:
Valid Driver's License required, CDL Preferred. Ability to sign-off

At least 7-10 years of experience required in a supervisory role with diagnostics experience & overseeing a large fleet preferred. Proficient in working with technology (computers, tablets, diagnostics, online research, etc.) Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Must have strong communication, organizational skills and management skills.
