Job Description
The Authorization Manager oversees all authorization department daily operations. The manager is monitors all authorization processes and coordinates with the company CEO daily. Responsible for managing employees on site and remote. Must be knowledgeable in all insurance verifications and benefits and authorizations. Required to be flexible with work schedule, nights and weekends, detailed oriented and possess strong communication skills. This position requires candidate to have excellent organization, time management, and critical thinking skills.
Duties:
Monitor authorization department workflows Assure authorization department efficiency and effectiveness Creates authorization department schedule including nights and weekends. Must ensure coverage between 7AM-10PM/ 7 days a week Audit department production and report trends. Provides support to the teams by answering questions or give guidance on as needed. Provide training/retraining to the teams as needed. Ensures department has updated information/tools at all times. Provide accurate and effective communication to the team and upper management. Monitor employee performance daily/weekly and reviews overall performance monthly Identifies, prioritizes, and implements improved processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the department. Multitask, use effective time management and stay abreast of what goes on in each department. Completes annual employee performance reviews Maintains patient and company confidentiality Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma required. Prefer at least 5 years or more of experience in a health care business office Minimum 5 years of management experience in Revenue Cycle Experience using an electronic medical record is preferred Minimum 5 years of medical insurance verification experience Knowledge of billing and coding guidelines Problem solving capabilities Ability to handle large workload Ability to think analytically and make decisions Excellent verbal and written communication, very organized, typing (35-45 wpm) and data entry skills Requires knowledge of working with Microsoft Software Products, Google Drive and Docs High attention to detail while multitasking and maintaining time managementJob Type:
