In this role, you will bridge the gap between sales and wrenching: guiding customer sales, scheduling and writing service work orders, sourcing needed parts, and keeping repair turnaround times on schedule. While you won't be turning wrenches on the stand yourself, you will orchestrate the entire shop floor to ensure mechanics have what they need to succeed and customers leave thrilled. The ideal candidate is a fast learner with sharp logistical skills who thrives in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities Service Department Coordination:
Intake repairs, evaluate customer needs, draft detailed and accurate work orders, and schedule job queues to balance shop capacity.
Parts Procurement & Inventory:
Identify and order required replacement parts and accessories for pending work orders; track shipments to avoid repair bottlenecks.
Warranty Processing:
Manage and submit warranty claims with manufacturers and distributors from intake to credit or replacement resolution.
Turnaround Management:
Actively track mechanic workflows to guarantee service jobs are completed accurately, safely, and on time.
Sales Floor Leadership:
Direct daily retail floor activities, assist customers with bicycle and gear selections, and uphold exceptional customer service standards.
Store Operations:
Supervise staff shifts, handle opening/closing procedures, oversee POS transactions, and maintain clean, organized retail and service reception spaces.
Customer Communication:
Provide proactive updates to customers on repair status, estimate adjustments, and completed work via phone, text, or email. Qualifications & Experience Prior experience in retail management, service writing, or service advisor roles (bicycle industry or powersports/automotive service management preferred). High operational organization with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Fast learner capable of quickly picking up bike component compatibility, distributor catalogs (B2B ordering), and shop management/POS software. Strong communication skills with an emphasis on customer service and de-escalating service issues. Working knowledge of modern bicycle mechanics, standards, and components sufficient to write precise work orders and order correct parts without second-guessing.
Pay:
