Store Manager — Tri-State Exxon Hillsboro, Virginia — Route 340 near Harpers Ferry Tri-State Exxon is a high-volume convenience, fuel, and tobacco retail operation located in Hillsboro, Virginia near the Virginia/West Virginia/Maryland border. We are an established, stable business — some of our team members have been with us for over 20 years. We are seeking an experienced, motivated Store Manager to lead our team of twelve employees and help us continue delivering the exceptional service our customers expect.

Compensation:

Salary range: $60,000 - $65,000 annually Performance bonus available based on shrink control, store cleanliness and organization, customer service standards, and staff retention Health insurance stipend available after 90-day probationary period — details discussed at interview

Hours:

This is a salaried full-time position. We expect 45 hours per week as a baseline. During high-demand periods, inventory cycles, or staffing challenges, weeks of 50-55 hours may be required. We believe in being transparent about this expectation upfront. The primary schedule is daytime hours, with responsibility for supervising and supporting all shifts.

What you will do:

Lead, supervise, and develop a team of twelve employees across all shifts Drive staff recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention — reducing turnover is a primary objective of this role Maintain exceptional store cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards at all times Monitor and control shrink across all product categories Oversee all cash handling including safe management, deposits, and accountability for all funds Operate and oversee lottery terminal functions and compliance Manage vendor relationships and check-in procedures Enforce all age-restricted product regulations for tobacco and alcohol — no exceptions Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations governing tobacco and lottery sales Report directly to ownership and work collaboratively with our senior management team during your onboarding and training period What we are looking for: Proven experience in retail management — convenience store, tobacco retail, or high-volume retail preferred Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and hold accountable a diverse team of employees Strong cash handling and loss prevention instincts Familiarity with tobacco products and lottery terminal operations is a plus — we will train the right candidate Someone who leads by example, maintains high standards, and treats employees firmly, fairly, and with respect Ability to work with a sense of urgency and thrive in a fast-paced environment Strong time management skills with the ability to supervise shifts efficiently while maintaining high service standards.
