THE ROLE
The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in daily operations, team leadership, training, inventory oversight, merchandising, production, and customer experience. This role ensures smooth store execution across both the candle and jewelry sides of the business while maintaining brand standards and elevating the guest experience. The ASM steps in for the Store Manager when needed and helps drive operational excellence. YOU ARE Organized, proactive, communicative, and confident leading others. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, stay composed under pressure, and balance guest experience with operational accuracy. ⭐ CORE RESPONSIBILITIESTeam Leadership, Delegation & Development Support the Store Manager in supervising, coaching, and motivating the team across all store functions. Delegate tasks clearly and ensure associates understand priorities and expectations. Assist with onboarding and training new employees in candle-making, jewelry assembly, safety, and service standards. Provide real-time feedback, support performance expectations, and help maintain a positive, collaborative, high-energy culture. Model professionalism, efficiency, and exceptional service during every shift. Customer Experience Ensure every guest receives a welcoming, memorable experience at both the candle bar and jewelry bar. Support guest flow during busy periods by greeting customers, managing waitlists, and stepping in to assist with scent selection, candle pouring, and jewelry assembly. Resolve guest concerns with professionalism, warmth, and confidence. Support private events, workshops, groups, and off-site activations when scheduled. Uphold safety procedures related to hot wax, tools, fragrance oils, and interactive experiences. Store Operations Assist with daily opening and closing procedures and ensure the store stays guest-ready at all times. Maintain clean, organized, fully stocked stations across both candle and jewelry operations. Support merchandising standards, seasonal resets, and product launch displays. Conduct or support inventory counts for vessels, fragrances, wax, wicks, charms, chains, packaging, and supplies. Report low stock levels promptly and submit accurate replenishment requests. Maintain strong back-of-house organization and operational flow. Production & Fulfillment (Candle Manufacturing) Assist with production for wholesale orders, collaborations, in-house inventory runs, and corporate gifting. Measure, mix, and pour wax according to exact recipes, ensuring batch accuracy and scent precision. Wick, label, and package candles according to brand guidelines. Monitor curing timelines and support quality control checks to ensure consistent performance. Track production supplies and communicate replenishment needs. Administrative & Operational Support Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, communication, and training coordination. Monitor store KPIs such as AOV, guest feedback, upselling performance, and product trends. Identify opportunities to improve workflow, guest experience, or sales and communicate them to the Store Manager. Support compliance with all safety procedures and operational standards. Document operational issues, supply shortages, or equipment concerns and escalate appropriately. Off-Site Event Support Assist with off-site charm bar activations, pop-ups, corporate events, and brand collaborations when scheduled. Support event prep, transport, setup, guest flow, and breakdown. Represent the brand with enthusiasm, professionalism, and polished communication. ⭐ Innovation & Contribution to Ideas Track customer preferences, behaviors, and feedback regularly. Stay aware of trends in fragrance, jewelry, retail, and experiential engagement. Bring thoughtful, actionable ideas to meetings with the Store Manager and ownership. Recommend improvements to processes, products, merchandising, or guest experience based on real-time observations. ⭐ Content & Merchandising Support Capture simple photos and short videos of merchandising, product displays, candle-making, and jewelry moments for marketing use. Support store visual standards, seasonal installations, and product storytelling. Ensure all displays reflect the brand's aesthetic and merchandising direction.
REQUIREMENTS 1
year of retail or hospitality leadership experience preferred. Strong communication skills and confidence leading a team. Ability to learn and execute candle-making processes and jewelry assembly. Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and multitasking ability. Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and stand for extended periods. Reliable, organized, and proactive working style. Comfortable capturing basic photo/video content on a phone.
