Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Department Supervisor to join our team. As a Department Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the production process in our graphics and manufacturing department. The ideal candidate will also assist in the flow and function of all pressroom operations, to optimize efficiency and production at the highest level of performance. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the quality of our products and maintaining a smooth production process.
Duties:
  • Applying and enforcing all GMP and safety procedures on the floor.
  • Assembling complete job packet paperwork for production floor and checking for accuracy.
  • Providing Pressroom Leadership and support to all personnel.
  • Perform all necessary duties to ensure daily functionality of the department, machine operation, production and waste recording.
  • Follow up on problems interfering with press productivity and assist with solutions.
  • Help with the implementation of procedures to improve productivity and waste reduction.
  • Controlling employee Vacations and needed coverages.
  • Review the need of overtime or employee schedule changes with Director of Printing Operations.
  • Oversee production run and set-up standards.
  • Lead in training of personnel based on existing training procedures and ensuring issuance of appropriate documentation.
  • Assist in inventory and control, ensuring appropriate use of film based on allocations.
  • Report any and all maintenance issues.
  • Maintaining full compliance on floor.
  • Covering all press department duties during Director of Printing Operation's absence.
  • Assist on special projects in the department as needed.
  • Ensure daily workload flow in an efficient manner, as well as keeping a safe and clean environment for all employees, while maintaining them motivated.
  • Ensure all employees follow the company's policy in all aspects and at all times. Follow up with Director of Printing Operations on required disciplinary actions and appropriate documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Union Agreement at all times.
Experience:
  • Must have a minimum of 2-year Production Supervisor experience
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Must be capable of seeing/identifying color.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Office)
  • Bilingual a plus.
