Founder & Executive Producer, Dashawn DeBose About the Company Les Maquis Films is a grassroots film and television production company founded in the Atlanta metro area with the goal of building a self-sustaining ecosystem for independent filmmakers. The company established its production model through Ashes Never Rest , a microbudget feature produced for approximately $1,000 and successfully placed across five streaming platforms . Through this project, Les Maquis Films developed a streamlined production process capable of moving projects from development through production and into distribution while maximizing limited budgets and condensed timelines. Les Maquis Films is now seeking to expand this model through strategic development and distribution partnerships. About the Role We are seeking a Film Distribution & Development Sales Agent to work directly with Founder & Executive Producer Dashawn DeBose . The primary objective of this position is to secure and consolidate development deals with distributors, streaming platforms, content companies, and other media partners for Les Maquis Films' project slate. This is not primarily a completed-film sales position . Les Maquis Films already has an established process for producing projects and moving completed productions toward distribution. The Agent will focus on developing the relationships and agreements that create a recurring pipeline of projects for those distribution channels. The successful candidate will help position Les Maquis Films as a production partner capable of consistently delivering quality independent content within efficient production budgets. Key Responsibilities Identify and research potential distribution, streaming, and content development partners. Establish relationships with acquisition executives, development teams, distributors, and other industry decision-makers. Pitch Les Maquis Films' production capabilities, project slate, and development model. Pursue multi-project development and distribution agreements . Generate qualified introductions and business opportunities. Assist the Executive Producer with proposals, presentations, deal structures, and negotiations. Help consolidate individual project opportunities into broader development partnerships. Maintain a pipeline of prospects and track outreach, negotiations, and active opportunities. Develop long-term relationships that can generate recurring projects and distribution opportunities. Represent the company's production model professionally to prospective partners. Compensation This is a commission-based independent contractor position . The Agent will receive 5-10% of qualified development and/or distribution agreements secured through the Agent's direct introductions, relationships, or business development efforts. The specific commission rate will be established in the independent contractor agreement based on the scope and value of the agreement. No guaranteed salary or hourly compensation is currently offered. QualificationsRequired Experience or demonstrated knowledge of film, television, streaming, media sales, or distribution. Strong communication, networking, and negotiation skills. Ability to independently identify and pursue business opportunities. Strong relationship-management and follow-up skills. Professional and entrepreneurial approach to business development. Preferred Existing relationships with film distributors, streaming platforms, content acquisition executives, production companies, or media organizations. Experience in film sales, distribution, licensing, content acquisition, entertainment business development, or independent production. Demonstrated history of securing partnerships, clients, or business agreements. The ideal candidate can open doors, establish relationships with decision-makers, and help convert those relationships into recurring development agreements . Les Maquis Films has already built the production infrastructure and distribution pipeline. This role is focused on expanding the business-development side of that pipeline by securing partners who need a consistent source of efficiently produced independent content.
