Job Description

Do you enjoy interacting with lots of great customers and being a part of Team supporting Sales primarily at grocery locations throughout Southern Maine? If so, this is THE position for you! Responsibilities
  • Proactively support customer service and sales strategies to increase market-share of Nappi products.
  • Respond and execute on daily internal/external customers' needs in a prompt, efficient, and helpful manner.
  • Provide back-up route coverage to Sales Representatives for planned/unplanned absences and peak volume periods; occasional on-call evening/weekend back-up support is required. Adhere to account visit frequency and sequence to ensure customer satisfaction and relationships.
  • Assist Sales Reps and Channel Manager(s) with implementation of beer resets.
  • Transmit and verify daily orders in accordance with time guidelines to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Assist to merchandise, deliver small quantities and POS items.
  • Assist with initiatives to support supplier promotions and incentive programs.
  • Support promotion of all Nappi products/service opportunities. Assist, represent Nappi, and support special events including trade shows, product launches, charitable and other promotional and informational events.
  • Conduct regular audits of customer locations as assigned to verify display quality, POS'/tap handles' visibility and effectiveness, and draft line maintenance schedule; reports results to Supervisor.
  • Proactively communicate competitor initiatives and activities to Supervisor.
  • Suggests ideas for enhancements for internal/external customer service effectiveness and efficiencies; sales opportunities, etc.; implements as directed by Supervisor.
  • Develop and maintain solid relationships with internal/external customers to provide quality back-up support to Sales Representatives.
  • Assist with training needs of other Sales Assistants.
  • Represent Nappi Distributors by conducting all activity and interaction with customers in a professional, positive, service-oriented manner.
  • Adhere to Nappi and customer specific safety guidelines/requirements, including proper body mechanics. Demonstrate ability to exercise sound judgement when faced with safety issues.
  • Present self with integrity, professionalism and commitment to Nappi Distributors' customer service, quality, adherence to State/Federal regulations, and all Nappi policies, guidelines, requirements, including accurate recording of work time, is required.
Our Beer Sales Assistant is responsible to support our Grocery Sales Team to provide premier customer service to internal and external customers. Experience/Skills
  • Valid Maine driver's license and safe driving record; must be maintained for this position.
  • Previous experience within beverage industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of on or off premise trade, sales, and strategic marketing in the beverage industry plus a commitment towards continuous development of technical knowledge is desired.
  • Excellent customer service aptitude; ability to maintain positive interactions with individuals at all levels of an organization.
  • Solid business math skills.
  • Strong time-management, organizational, and prioritization skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and contribute as part of a team.
  • Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Solid computer/tablet knowledge; familiarity with Apple products is desired.
  • Acceptance of constructive developmental feedback and willingness to modify approach.
  • Flexibility to adjust and extend work schedule when requested to respond to internal/external customer needs and conduct training and promotional sessions during non-business hours, including extra days, frequent evenings, weekends, and when assigned and when on-call status is necessary for coverage.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast paced work environment.

Physical and Mental Demands The physical and mental demands described below are representative of those that most commonly will be encountered in this position yet are not all inclusive. Physical and mental ability to perform the duties of this job include daily driving, walking, sitting, standing, bending/stooping, climbing (mainly stairs, occasional ladders, etc.) and frequent reaching. Occasional kneeling, crouching, and overhead to below knee work with arms extended is required. Lifting/carrying of up to 65 lbs. from ground to above head levels; lifting of kegs to thigh/knee level and pulling/pushing/maneuvering of up to 160 lbs., without mechanical assistance, is required. Occasional work in cold and wet environments (35-40F) is necessary. Infrequent work in hot (70 - 90F) and wet environments may be necessary. Exposure to mold/mildew is possible. Visual acuity, hearing, dexterity coordination, and cognitive ability sufficient for communicating efficiently and effectively with others; driving, reading, communicating, and use of telephone, keyboard, computer/tablet and other electronic systems, equipment, and documents is required. Cognitive, intellectual and mental ability to concentrate on details, and to perform more than one task at a time, including when under significant time and other pressures. Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with customers, co-workers and all levels of personnel. Ability to work extended, flexible, and odd hours to accomplish business and customer needs including occasional evenings, and/or weekends. Additional hours required during the peak summer season.
