Job Description

This role is on the front-line of the retail sales team who assists in the sales of meat and non-meat inventory and packaging of meat products as well as the leader of sanitation in production, also meat-case management ensuring safety and USDA health standards are met throughout all steps of the manufacturing process. Core Responsibilities
  • Ensures Retail Side of facility is fully-operational with all utilities and retail equipment functioning properly, while remaining in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Develops, maintains, monitors, and communicates a Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure
  • Ensures the Meat Market has been properly sanitized and will pass USDA inspection at start-up of each day
  • Communicates potential and actual food safety issues to key personnel to initiate the corrective action process
  • Leads and assists in sales duties including but not limited to packaging, shipping, and receiving
  • Directs and enforces safety and sanitation regulations
  • Calibrates food retail (scales, vacuum sealing. meat slicer, packaging machine) machines to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Packages, prices, and dates meat products per established guidelines including type, date of expiration, and weight
  • Performs the proper inspections to meet HACCP regulations
  • Promptly informs butcher department of any low stock and/or meat case restock need
  • Receives, verifies, and stores inventory deliveries
  • Follows safe food handling and personal hygiene practices Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques and answers phone calls for ordering taking purposes Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensures accuracy of signs and pricing.

  • Reports directly to the Retail Supervisor.
  • Works directly with retail team members Qualifications
  • Experience in food handling and packaging preferred.
  • Experience handling knives and other cutting equipment
  • Knowledge of USDA, HACCP, Food Safety regulations, and OSHA Standards is preferred
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficient cleaning abilities to meat sanitation and visual standards
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis.

Pay:
$15.00 - $22.00 per hour
