Sales Assistant The Vanguard Insurance Agency is looking for a motivated and organized Sales Assistant to support one of our Account Managers. This position will play an important role in helping the Account Manager manage and grow their book of business. The Sales Assistant will help with customer follow-up, new business, renewals, retention, cross-selling, and daily account management activities. We are looking for someone who communicates well, stays organized, follows through, and is comfortable speaking with customers. What You Will Do Assist an Account Manager with managing their book of business Help manage upcoming renewals and make sure customers are contacted on time Follow up with customers during the renewal process Help identify accounts that may be at risk of canceling or leaving the agency Work with the Account Manager on retention efforts and help save customers who are considering canceling Follow up with canceled customers when appropriate to try to win their business back Assist with new business opportunities and insurance quotes Gather information needed to prepare quotes and renewals Follow up on open quotes and pending new business Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional insurance products Follow up with customers and prospects by phone, email, and text Update customer information and document activity in the agency management system Keep track of pending items and make sure follow-ups are completed Communicate with insurance carriers when needed Help the Account Manager stay organized and manage a large book of business What We Are Looking For Strong communication and customer service skills Comfortable speaking with customers on the phone Organized and able to follow up consistently Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Strong attention to detail Comfortable learning new computer systems Comfortable working with goals and being accountable for results Able to identify problems and follow through until they are resolved Works well as part of a team Insurance experience is preferred, but we are willing to consider candidates with strong sales, customer service, banking, mortgage, or other professional office experience. What Success Looks Like Success in this position means helping the Account Manager provide excellent service while protecting and growing their book of business. You will help make sure renewals are handled on time, customers receive proper follow-up, accounts at risk of leaving are identified, retention opportunities are worked, and sales opportunities do not fall through the cracks. This is not just an administrative position. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of their responsibilities and contribute to both customer retention and agency growth.
