ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a Technical Salesperson/Outside Sales Engineer in western and north/central AZ. As a Provoast Automation Technical Outside Sale Engineer, you would:
  • Travel from your home-based office to manufacturing plants in your assigned territory, expanding business with existing customers and develop new business by researching and cold calling potential customers.
  • Localized travel within your territory to existing and prospective customers apx 4 days/week, with 15-20 substantive client visits weekly, utilizing mostly in-person sales calls, but also virtual meetings when appropriate. Occasional overnight travel may be required to accommodate outlying customers in larger territories.
  • Learn your customers' business goals and objectives, operating systems and manufacturing processes, in order to become their trusted partner.
  • Identify and build professional relationships with decision-makers.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales, technical and sales support internal resources, and manufacturer reps to solve customers' needs. For large projects you would act as "Project Manager" to make sure questions are answered and timelines stay on track.
  • Maintain the CRM system, projecting annual Sales Goals and Forecasts, and verify that your Sales activity supports the Goals.
  • Review client activities regularly with Sales Manager, and strategize ways to maximize Sales.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
§ High-level Mechanical skills required for success § B.S. in Engineering, Industrial Technology or Mechatronics preferred, with robotics and/or PLC Controls coursework § OR Bachelor's degree on Business or Marketing with a strong mechanical/technical aptitude and Industrial Technical Sales experience § OR Associate's degree in a related technical field with 5+ years job experience with a strong mechanical/technical aptitude § Factory Automation experience highly desired § Salespeople must live in the stated territory. This is not a remote Sales job.
