Job Overview Job description Sund Birsta is a leading provider of innovative solution for the steel industry, focus on improving production efficiency, operational reliability, and customer satisfaction. With decades of industry experience, we continuously strive to evolve and optimise our designs to meet growing enviromental and sustainability demands. By electrifying and automatizing our equipment, we help our customers improve energy efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and achieve higher level of safety and productivity. We are currently looking for a motivated Junior Sales Engineer to join our Sund Birsta North America team. This position is idea for early -career or newly graduated candidates with a strong technical background who are earger to develop into a customer facing commercial role. This is a structured development role, in which the successful candidate will receive comprehensive training in both the United States and Europe, along with hands-on mentoring from our experienced senior sales managers. The clear objective of this position is to prepare the junior sales engineer for a future Sale Manger role within our North America organization, supporting long-term career growth and organizational continuity.
Key responsibilities:
Learning Sund Birsta products, system, and applications in details Develop a strong understanding of customer production processes, technical challenges, and operational requirements within today's steel industry Gain comprehensive sidight into how Sund Birsta equipment, systems, and automation solutions are integrated into steel mill operations, supporting efficient, safe, and sustainable production Support senior sales managers by assisting with technical evaluations and solution development, and application concepts Participate in structured training programs in the United States and Europe, covering products, engineering concepts, sales processes Collaborate closely with design, engineering, project, and production teams in both the U.S and Europe to understand internal workflows and solution development Work with senior sales managers, engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure the technical and commercial proposals are technically accurate, commercially competitive, and aligned with Sund Birsta standard Support the adjustment and optimization of quotations during customer discussions and negotiations, gaining hands-on experience in scope definition, pricing structure, and value positioning Gradually build knowledge of market trends, competitive landscape, and Sund Birsta value propositions Accompany senior sales managers on selected customer visits to observe, learn and support customer discussions, with responsibility increasing as experience and confidence grow Develop an understanding of cost drivers, commercial terms, and negotiation strategies as part of long-term training toward a Sales Manager role Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation to support sales actives and knowledge development Ensure the highest level of realization for Sund Birsta products and services, driving both customer success and company growth. Stay updated on market developments and prospect new business opportunities, supporting future business development activiesRequired Skills and Experience:
Education You hold at least a bachelor's degree ( or recent graducate) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, mechatronics, Industrial Design or a closely related technicial discipline New graduates are strongly encouraged to apply Technical Background & Learning Ability Strong technical foundation with a high interest in industrial machinery, automation, and robotics Ability and motivation to quickly learn complex products, including robotic system, laser inquipment, and automated handling solutions. Basic understanding of Industrial automation and control system, electrical and mechanical integration, robotics and mechatronic Commercial & Analytical Skills Strong interest in developing a career in technical sales and sales management Ability to prepare technical and commercial quotations based on customer requirements, system scope, and specification Analytical mindset with attention to details and structured thinking Communication & Collaboration Good veral and written communication skills Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and professionally to internal teams and customers Comfortable collaborating with Sales, Design, and Project temas Ability to listen, learn, and adapt in customer-oriented discussions Personal Attributes Motivated, proactive, and eager to learn Well-organized, punctual, and reliable Ability to work independently as well as in an international, cross-functional team environment Open to coaching, feedback, and continuous development Travel & Flexibility Willingness and ability to travel within North America Openess to participate in training program in the U.S and Europe Comfortable being present in industrial environment, such a steel plants and production facilities Computer and Language Skills Proficient in standard PC tools such as MS office, CRM/ERP system, and CAD system Fluency in English required Additional languages, such as Swedish, Spanish or German are a plus Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary, commensurated with qualification and experience Performance-based bonus tied to individual and team achievement Comprehensive benefits package The role offers strong growth potential as responsibilities increaseAdditional Information:
