A Security Sales Engineer provides technical expertise as part of a sales team, and specializes in selling security technology products and services. Participates in sales presentations and offers technical information about security technology products to business customers. Works with customers to identify business requirements and develops customized security technology demonstrations. May assist with solving technical problems after security technology products are purchased or installed.
We are seeking an experienced Pre-Sales Engineer specializing in Physical Security Systems. This position is responsible for developing technical solutions for physical security projects including access control, IP video surveillance, intrusion alarm systems, intercoms, and integrated low-voltage systems. The ideal candidate has strong physical security industry experience with the ability to evaluate project requirements, develop accurate system designs and documentation, and support projects from initial sales opportunity through handoff to operations. Location & Work Environment Full-time in-office position located in Venice, Florida Occasional travel may be required depending on project needs Fast-paced environment supporting multiple sales opportunities and projects simultaneously Key Responsibilities Review RFPs, RFQs, architectural drawings, construction documents, specifications, site surveys, and customer requirements Develop comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and supporting technical documentation Design physical security solutions involving access control, IP video surveillance, intrusion alarm systems, intercoms, and related low-voltage infrastructure Determine appropriate equipment, device quantities, system architecture, licensing, and infrastructure requirement Identify scope gaps, design conflicts, missing information, and technical risks during the pre-sales process Support Sales with technical discovery, site walks, system design, product selection, and customer presentations Assist with project estimating by identifying required hardware, materials, labor requirements, and other project considerations Coordinate with manufacturers, distributors, vendors, and internal technical resources to validate system design and equipment compatibility Develop system layouts, riser diagrams, device schedules, and other design documentation as required Ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible, scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with customer requirements Participate in internal solution reviews and project handoffs from Sales to Project Management and Operations Provide technical clarification and design support during project execution as needed Maintain strong working knowledge of physical security industry standards, products, and emerging technologies Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in the physical security, low-voltage, security integration, system design, or related industry Strong experience with access control systems, IP video surveillance, intrusion alarm systems, and integrated physical security platforms Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, floor plans, door schedules, riser diagrams, and technical specifications Experience developing Bills of Materials, Statements of Work, system designs, or similar technical project documentation Strong understanding of access control hardware, IP cameras, intrusion devices, intercoms, and supporting low-voltage infrastructure Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, PoE, VLANs, network switching, and structured cabling Ability to identify scope gaps, compatibility issues, and technical requirements during the design process Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong documentation and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple concurrent opportunities in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Verkada certifications preferred Experience with Verkada, Mercury-based systems, enterprise access control systems, or similar physical security platforms CAD, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Revit, Visio, or similar design software experience preferred but not required Experience in the physical security integration industry strongly preferred Experience with enterprise or multi-site deployments preferred OSHA certifications preferred (OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30)
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
