This position works closely with sales, customers, internal engineering teams, and overseas technical teams to evaluate application requirements, determine appropriate machine configurations, and develop technical solutions for special options and modifications. The role also supports quotation accuracy, stock-machine modifications, and continuous improvement of engineering and sales processes. Key Responsibilities Provide technical guidance to support injection molding machine quotations and sales activities. Work with sales teams and customers to understand application requirements and determine appropriate machine configurations and related equipment needs. Collaborate with internal and overseas engineering teams to develop technical solutions for customer-requested options and modifications. Review technical feasibility of RFQs and provide recommendations to support an efficient quotation process. Obtain and provide cost and technical information needed for accurate machine quotations. Support in-house modifications of stock machines prior to customer delivery. Analyze customer and sales requirements to help determine future stock-machine configurations. Coordinate technical requirements for build-to-order (BTO), stock modification, and retrofit projects. Support efforts to improve machine lead times, installation quality, and overall equipment readiness. Develop and update engineering and sales-related policies, procedures, and technical documentation. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience. At least 2 years of related experience involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or industrial equipment systems. General understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems. Ability to read and understand basic mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and hydraulic documentation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with sales, engineering, and other cross-functional teams. Ability to travel occasionally, including domestic and international travel. Preferred Experience with injection molding machines or other industrial manufacturing equipment. Additional training or hands-on experience with hydraulic, mechanical, or electrical systems. Programming knowledge, including C++ and/or Visual Basic. Japanese language skills are a plus, but not a must. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented engineer who can translate customer requirements into practical technical solutions. This individual should be comfortable working across engineering and sales functions, managing multiple priorities, and communicating technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The position requires strong accountability, initiative, teamwork, and the ability to deliver accurate technical solutions with limited day-to-day supervision.
