Foundry Associate Sales Engineer - Fort Wayne, Indiana Pyrotek, Inc. United States, Indiana, Fort Wayne May 12, 2026

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Associate Sales Engineer willsupport revenue growth by selling a portfolio of consumables, equipment, and technical services to clients in the foundry industry while concurrently building technical expertise, expanding product knowledge, and developing strong sales capabilities under the mentorship of experienced Sales Team personnel. This is a remote-based position with the territory noted as Illinois, Iowa & Wisconsin. The candidate will reside in the northern 1/3 part of Illinois.
- Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Manage and Grow Assigned Sales Territory
- by building strong customer relationships, identifying decision makers, prospecting new accounts, and meeting/exceeding sales and gross profit targets.
- Execute Sales Activities
- including soliciting new or additional products, preparing competitive pricing, presenting quotations, and negotiating terms while maintaining awareness of competitor activities.
- Develop and Manage Customer Agreements
- by correctly preparing purchase agreements, reviewing quarterly performance against agreement terms, and communicating customer demands internally.
- Provide Customer Support and Technical Solutions
- by conducting regular facility visits, delivering training, promptly resolving technical issues, and fielding customer inquiries in a timely manner.
- Resolve Customer Issues
- including complaints regarding billing or products, initiating RMAs/customer credits, and researching solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate Internally
- with customer service, operations, supply chain, sales engineers, and vendors to ensure order fulfillment, resolve customer accounts receivable issues, and support technical presentations as needed.
- Maintain CRM System
- by completing trip reporting, documenting sales relationship communications, and submitting accurate and timely travel expense reports.
- Develop Sales Expertise
- through mentorship from experienced Sales Team personnel while building technical knowledge and expanding product expertise in the foundry industry. Qualifications
- Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related technical discipline, plus two (2) years of project and/or operations experience in manufacturing, industrial sales, or customer-facing role, preferably within the foundry industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Sales & Business Acumen
- Understanding of sales processes and techniques with ability to build relationships and sell technical solutions in an industrial setting.
- Technical Skills
- Demonstrated ability to understand and clearly communicate product features, specifications, and value propositions to customers.
- Customer Service & Communication Skills
- Skilled in managing challenging customer interactions with empathy, professionalism, and composure.
- Core Business & People Skills
- Ability to positively interact and work collaboratively with diverse groups at all levels.
- Computer/Applications Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Familiar with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms, video conferencing tools, instant messaging apps, and ERP or Order Management Systems used for inventory, pricing, and order tracking.
- Travel
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally by land and air, up to 50%.
