Job Description Sales Engineer - Michigan Responsible for driving sales growth throughout Michigan. Primary market focus includes Plumbing, Data Centers, Medical, Agriculture, Automotive, and Industrial Manufacturing, with approximately 50% travel required. This position is responsible for growing and developing the Clamps and Rings business, with a strong emphasis on automotive applications, including Thermal Management, Driveshaft, Steering, and Air Intake systems, while also supporting industrial manufacturing customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive sales growth and manage customer relationships throughout Michigan. Protect, grow, and support sales for assigned regional and national customers. Develop new business through customer prospecting, opportunity identification, and relationship management using the 360° sales approach. Grow the Clamps and Rings business within the Automotive and Industrial Manufacturing markets, focusing on applications such as Thermal Management, Driveshaft, Steering, and Air Intake systems. Manage sales opportunities, forecasts, and customer activities using established CRM and sales management systems. Support customer complaints, provide technical field service, and coordinate resolutions with internal teams. Partner with Key Account Managers and local production facilities to support strategic customer initiatives. Effectively manage time, travel, resources, and professional development to maximize sales performance. Travel approximately 50% to support customers, develop new business, and strengthen relationships throughout Michigan. Qualifications Predominant Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of sales processes, sales principles, and applicable industries. Knowledge of internal support processes, quality management systems/principals, and how to apply them. Detailed knowledge of Oetiker products, applications, and assembly solutions. Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal). Ability to build lasting business relationships. Mechanical and commercial aptitude Proven ability to learn. Ability to work with the highest levels of integrity and compliance.
