The Inside Sales / Estimating Engineer position will provide technical and engineering assistance to our customers, while collaborating with engineers, and production team members for new and existing product development. Develop cost estimates by reading blueprints, consulting with engineers and technical professionals. (including but not limited to) Review Request for Quotation (RFQ's) and maintain Quotation Log. Help determine the technical or commercial viability of products by comparing against NEI design and manufacturing core competencies and capabilities. Establish Initial Process Flowchart for quoted product that encompasses all operational processes from the receipt of raw materials through shipment of the finished goods. Create and modify tooling and part cost estimates by use of historical data along with acquired experience. Accurately estimate the costs associated with designing, fabricating, assembling and debugging close tolerance stamping. Create preliminary design files and specifications as necessary to support cost estimating activity. Contact suppliers for material selection, sub-contract processes, pricing and lead time. (including but not limited to) Associate degree in a technical/ Business concertation required; bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent experience in manufacturing and/or estimating may be considered. Demonstrated proficiency with CAD design, 3-D experience preferable Ability to read blueprints and other technical documents. Knowledge of GD&T dimensioning preferable Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Exceptional creative, analytical and computational skills. Good verbal and written communication skills Some travel required The work environment is a normal office with numerous trips out to the shop floor. Standing and sitting for long periods of time. Bending, lifting up to 30 pounds, typing, filing, and communicating directly and via electronic media. The noise level in the office is normal. Occasional visits to the shop subject the employee to noisy conditions from the metal shop equipment

Pay:

$80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
