Job Description Safran Aerosystems' Wall Township, New Jersey facility is home to the North American headquarters of our Evacuation Systems Business Unit (SEV). Here, you will help design, manufacture, maintain, and support life-saving aircraft evacuation systems, including emergency slides, life rafts, and flotation devices. Building on more than a century of innovation, our teams play a critical role in the development, certification, and production of advanced aerospace safety equipment used around the world. You will join the Sales Department of the Evacuation Systems Business Unit, taking on the role of Sales Engineer I within a team of talented professionals, reporting to the Sales Manager. You will work closely with internal teams (Sales leadership, Engineering, Program Management, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Contracts) and external partners (OEM and aftermarket customers). In this context, your main missions will be to:
  • Contribute to technical-commercial sales support:
  • Participate in customer requirements analysis, solution development, and proposal preparation
  • Define and prepare quotations, pricing analyses, and responses to RFQs/RFPs
  • Carry out market research and competitive analysis
  • Provide your expertise to customer communications, presentations, and customer development initiatives
  • Manage sales opportunities:
  • Lead the coordination of sales projects and information flow
  • Ensure accurate opportunity management in the CRM system
  • Implement pricing and contract guidelines under the supervision of Sales leadership
  • Support negotiation activities and resolution of routine customer and order issues The primary work environment is an office setting, with periodic work on the manufacturing floor or in test and demonstration environments (using appropriate PPE).
Domestic and international travel of approximately 10% to 20% may be required, depending on customer and business needs. Education requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aviation, Business, Marketing, or another relevant technical or commercial field preferred; equivalent combinations of education and directly relevant experience may be considered.
Experience requirements:
  • Typically 2-4 years of relevant experience in technical sales, sales engineering, applications engineering, aerospace manufacturing, customer support, program management, engineering, or a related field
  • Exposure to engineered products and technical customer requirements preferred
  • Experience preparing quotations, proposals, pricing analyses, customer presentations, or similar commercial documentation is preferred Certification requirements:
  • Not specifically required, but relevant certifications in technical sales or project management are a plus Skills requirements:
  • Technical sales and customer requirements interpretation: Intermediate
  • Quotation preparation, catalog pricing, and cost/price analysis: Intermediate
  • Customer communication, relationship management, and negotiation support: Intermediate
  • Market research, competitive analysis, and new-product evaluation: Intermediate RFQ/RFP response and proposal preparation: Intermediate
  • Financial/business-case analysis, including ROI/NPV concepts: Basic to Intermediate
  • CRM pipeline management, forecasting, ERP/MRP data, and
Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint:
Intermediate
  • Aerospace product, manufacturing, quality, certification, and aftermarket concepts: Basic to Intermediate
  • Written and spoken
English:
