Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, measurements, and customer requirements. Identify and cross-reference competitive hydraulic components and recommend appropriate alternatives. Prepare quotes and proposals and follow opportunities through the complete sales process. Negotiate pricing and commercial terms while maintaining appropriate margins and building long-term customer relationships. Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations for customers and prospects. Work closely with our production and warehouse teams to ensure customer requirements can be manufactured and delivered accurately. Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers when additional technical support or specialized products are required. Follow up on quotes, open opportunities, customer projects, and new-product opportunities. Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, quote, and follow-up information within the company's CRM system. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred. Candidates with substantial hydraulic, fluid-power, industrial, or mechanical experience may be considered in place of an engineering degree. Previous experience in technical sales, sales engineering, applications engineering, hydraulic distribution, industrial distribution, or business development is strongly preferred. Experience selling hydraulic hose, fittings, adapters, fluid-power components, industrial equipment, or related mechanical products is a significant advantage. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to quickly understand how components and systems work together. Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both engineering personnel and hands-on maintenance or operations personnel. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Comfortable visiting customer facilities, walking through plants and shops, inspecting equipment, and discussing applications directly with customers. Self-motivated with the ability to prospect, develop relationships, and close business without constant supervision. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Comfortable balancing multiple customers, quotes, projects, and sales opportunities simultaneously. Experience using CRM and quoting systems is preferred. Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is technically curious and commercially driven . The right person doesn't just ask a customer, "What part number do you need?" They ask questions such as: What is the application? What pressure are you running? What fluid is being used? What temperature will the hose see? What type of connection is on the equipment? Why is the current assembly failing? Is there a better solution? We want someone who enjoys getting into the details, solving problems, and becoming a technical resource that customers trust . This person should also understand that technical knowledge alone doesn't create sales. You must be willing to prospect, make calls, visit customers, follow up on quotes, develop relationships, ask for the business, and close opportunities.
