THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a Sales Engineer to help develop competitive solutions for complex pre-engineered metal building projects. The role combines structural engineering, estimating, value engineering, and customer collaboration to influence design strategy and project economics. This is a technical, consultative position rather than a traditional quota-carrying sales role. Duties & Responsibilities Evaluate complex building opportunities using structural design software and advanced estimating tools. Develop structural solutions that balance customer requirements, product capabilities, cost, constructability, and business risk. Identify value-engineering opportunities to improve structural efficiency and overall project economics. Partner with sales representatives, builders, and customers to address technical questions and establish project strategies early in the process. Oversee estimates and provide technical guidance to quote engineers and estimators. Collaborate with design, estimating, and sales leadership to improve processes and develop competitive project solutions. Mentor technical team members and support the continued development of engineering and estimating practices. Provide remote and in-person technical support, with approximately 25% travel, including occasional short-notice trips. Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards. Why Consider This Role Move beyond the design desk: Apply your engineering expertise on the front end of opportunities, directly influencing design strategy, customer solutions, project economics, and the company's ability to win work.
