Job Description
Fastener Sales Engineer for Automotive Fasteners Berrang Inc., a growing automotive fastener supplier, is looking for a Fastener Sales Engineer for our automotive fasteners (nuts, bolts, rivets, clips, etc.). We are located at 1013 Robinson Road, Greer, SC, 29651. Office hours are 8am to 5pm with a 1 hour lunch break. Great location, new modern building. RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct APQP activities from an engineering side; Complete technical reviews for all departments; Interact directly with suppliers and customers regarding APQP / Feasibility issues; Participate in research and development and customer visits, supporting account managers, when needed Review AIAG PPAP's from manufacturer or to the customer;; Support the company in other areas and assume additional duties as requested by management.REQUIREMENTS
Must have working experience with fasteners, either in production or application; Ability toAnalyze Torque & Joint Integrity:
Collaborate with product engineering to audit and validate joint torque-tension specifications, torque tool calibration, and clamp-load performanceFastener Expertise:
Strong technical knowledge of fastener metallurgy, hydrogen embrittlement risks, thread geometry, and anti-corrosion coatings (zinc-flake, electroplating).Automotive Standards Knowledge:
Deep understanding of IATF 16949, Ability to read prints, from basic to complex. Pick up on all aspects of a part number, including embedded specifications Familiar with public standards - ISO, DIN, ASME, SAE, etc. Familiar with ISO/TA, IMDS, APQP and AIAG core tools (FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA), and VDA 6.3 requirements 4-year degree in technical discipline is preferred but we will consider equivalent experience Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint Good interpersonal skills to deal with customers, suppliers and coworkers We offer a competitive compensation and great benefits.
