About PipeX PipeX is a master distributor of advanced piping systems for mission-critical projects across North America. About the Role The Mission Critical Sales Engineer leads PipeX's technical sales strategy across the data center and modular construction markets, with a focus on our full range of product lines, including but not limited to Aquatherm, PipeX's flagship product. This position serves as the key liaison between the sales, marketing, engineering, and fabrication services teams, driving alignment between market needs and PipeX's product capabilities and services offered. The role focuses on advancing PipeX's position as the preferred provider of high-performance, mission-critical, and energy-efficient piping systems. This role combines engineering knowledge, customer engagement, and market insight to develop technical solutions, capture new opportunities, and support overall revenue growth. Responsibilities Partner with Marketing to develop and refine technical sales materials, including material comparisons, labor and installation methods, and performance metrics. Provide high-level technical expertise in customer meetings, presentations, and consultations in collaboration with Business Development, Regional Sales Managers, and local representatives. Ensure consistent technical messaging, positioning, and accuracy across all sales and marketing materials. Identify and participate in relevant trade shows and industry events, coordinating with internal and external partners, particularly within the data center market. Lead generation efforts during pre-construction and pre-sales phases, emphasizing opportunities in the energy and data center sectors. Support the growth of edge computing and modular construction markets, positioning PipeX as the preferred solution provider. Represent PipeX in Open Compute Project (OCP) initiatives, contributing to specifications, white papers, and standards development. Serve as one of PipeX's representative on the Plastic Pipe Institute (PPI) Education Committee and the Building and Construction Division Education Committee (BCD EC). Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape, including emerging materials, new technologies, and competitor strengths and weaknesses. Translate market insights into actionable strategies that support business objectives and long-term growth. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in technical sales, mechanical/piping systems, or data center design and construction. Strong understanding of mechanical piping systems, including polypropylene (PP-R/PP-RCT) piping. Fluent in data center infrastructure and applicable technologies, including but not limited to closed-loop cooling systems, TCS/SFN systems, and OCP- and ASHRAE-defined mission-critical standards. Certified Sales Engineer (CSE) — North American Association of Sales Engineers. Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred; Engineer in Training (EIT) certification considered. ASHRAE certification or active committee involvement. Ability to translate complex technical information for both engineering and commercial audiences.
