Mechanical Applications Engineer - Technical Sales Up to $85,000 Base Salary + Performance Incentives

up to $85,000 starting base salary (commensurate with technical sales and application depth) + performance incentive bonuses + full corporate benefits.
ROLE BALANCE
75% technical sales consulting and client engagement / 25% mechanical system design and quote engineering.
HIGH-VOLUME CONSULTING
Manage 20-25 active technical customer consultations per day using automated software tools to generate rapid proposals, quotes, and ROI metrics.

EDUCATION & LOCATION

What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)
Lead Technical Client Consultations:
Manage 20-25 daily technical client interactions via phone, email, and virtual meetings, serving as the primary engineering authority to solve application challenges.
Specify Custom Thermal/Fluid Systems:
Apply thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and structural engineering concepts to configure custom equipment packages tailored to client operational needs.
Generate Rapid Technical Quotes:
Utilize automated software tools to quickly generate accurate commercial quotes, system proposals, and return-on-investment (ROI) payback models.
Perform Blueprint & Value Engineering:
Analyze customer blueprints, specs, and operational data to deliver value-engineered design modifications to internal sales reps and end users.
Bridge Sales & Plant Floor:
Collaborate with internal production and manufacturing engineers to ensure quoted custom assemblies align with plant lead times and fabrication limits. Present to

Present detailed technical specifications and compliance data to client plant managers and engineering executives to advance project approvals. What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)
Engineering Foundation:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or closely related four-year engineering field.
Engineering & Sales Background:
5+ years of practical mechanical engineering experience paired with 2+ years of direct technical inside sales, proposal writing, or applications engineering.
High-Volume Client Engagement:
Demonstrated ability to manage high consultation volumes (20-25 daily client touchpoints) in a fast-paced environment.
Strong Commercial Communication:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical formulas into clear financial and operational benefits.
Stable Work Tenure:
Progressive professional record showcasing career commitment, accountability, and multi-year stays with past employers.
Local Commute Radius:
Resident based within a comfortable 45-minute daily drive of the Washington County / Germantown / Richfield, WI area. Preferred Technical Assets (Bonus Skills)
