Sales Engineer and Project Manager Raymath | Troy Ohio Department Sales and Engineering Reports To Chief Operating Officer Location Troy Ohio Employment Full Time Position Summary The Sales Engineer and Project Manager serves as the technical and commercial link between Raymath's customers and its internal manufacturing teams. This position develops customer opportunities, translates requirements into practical manufacturing solutions, and leads awarded work from quotation and launch through production readiness and closeout. The role is responsible for clear communication, disciplined follow through, and protecting customer commitments, project timing, and expected margins. Primary Responsibilities Sales Engineering and Customer Development Build strong working relationships with assigned customers and serve as a responsive technical resource throughout the sales and project lifecycle. Review requests for quotation, drawings, specifications, volumes, quality requirements, and delivery expectations to understand the complete customer need. Partner with estimating, engineering, purchasing, production, and quality to develop manufacturable solutions, accurate costs, practical lead times, and competitive proposals. Recommend materials, processes, tolerances, design changes, and value engineering opportunities that improve quality, cost, manufacturability, or delivery performance. Prepare and present technical proposals, quotations, project plans, and production recommendations to customers and internal leadership. Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and pursue new work that fits Raymath's capabilities and capacity. Project Management and Execution Own the transition from customer award to successful production launch, including scope confirmation, milestones, responsibilities, open items, and acceptance requirements. Create and maintain project schedules for engineering, material procurement, tooling, programming, prototypes, first articles, quality approvals, and production release. Lead internal project meetings and coordinate priorities across engineering, purchasing, scheduling, laser cutting, press brake bending, welding, fabrication, finishing, assembly, and quality. Track project risks, decisions, costs, timing, and action items; escalate issues early and drive owners to closure. Control changes to scope, drawings, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates. Document commercial and schedule impacts before commitments are made. Provide customers with accurate, consistent status updates and recovery plans when requirements or timing change. Complete project closeout, confirm lessons learned, and support a stable handoff to repeat production. Cross Functional Leadership Balance customer urgency with available capacity, technical risk, profitability, and existing production commitments. Promote disciplined communication so customer priorities and engineering changes reach the correct internal owners without creating conflicting direction on the shop floor. Support root cause and corrective action activities for quality, delivery, or launch issues and maintain customer confidence through resolution. Contribute to improvements in quoting, project launch, customer communication, and sales-to-operations handoff processes. Represent Raymath professionally during customer visits, facility tours, supplier discussions, and industry events. Measures of Success Accurate and timely quotations with clear assumptions and manufacturable solutions. Projects launched on schedule, within approved scope, and at expected margin. Consistent customer communication and strong customer satisfaction and retention. Growth of profitable business within assigned accounts and target markets. Reliable completion of action items, project documentation, and post-launch follow through. Required Qualifications 3 Years of Manufacturing Experience is preferred, but not required. Working knowledge or ability to learn metal fabrication processes such as laser cutting, tube laser, press brake forming, welding, machining, finishing, and assembly. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, bills of material, and customer quality requirements. Demonstrated ability to organize multiple projects, establish priorities, manage deadlines, and follow issues through resolution. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the judgment to communicate effectively with customers, engineers, production employees, suppliers, and executives. Microsoft Excel and CAD Experience Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer or supplier locations as business needs require. Preferred Qualifications 2 year or 4 year degree in engineering, engineering technology, business, or a related field; equivalent manufacturing experience will be considered. Experience managing new product introduction, prototype-to-production programs, or complex fabricated assemblies. Familiarity with CAD models, and manufacturing quality systems. Experience working directly with OEM customers in a high-mix manufacturing environment.
