Description About the Role We're looking for an energetic, customer-focused Sales Representative to join our growing team at a fast-paced startup in the contract sterilization space. You'll split your time between nurturing our existing pipeline of customers and generating new business, a great opportunity to build well-rounded sales experience in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment where your work has visible, immediate impact. As an early sales hire at a startup, you may take on broader responsibility than a typical junior sales role, with guidance and direction from an outside sales consultant and company leadership. There is potential to grow into a more senior sales role as the team scales. Responsibilities New Business Development Prospect and generate new business leads through outbound outreach, referrals, and industry networking. Attend industry trade shows and conferences to represent the company and build the sales pipeline. Qualify inbound inquiries and convert them into active opportunities. Pipeline & Account Management Follow up consistently with existing pipeline customers to move opportunities forward and support retention. Serve as a responsive point of contact for customer inquiries, requests, and concerns related to sterilization services. Provide accurate, timely information on sterilization processes, pricing, lead times, and other service details. Document all customer communications and deal activity in the CRM per company procedure. Customer Communication Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries via phone, email, and other channels. Keep customers informed throughout the sterilization process, including order updates and shipment tracking. Proactively check in with customers to understand needs, gather feedback, and flag opportunities for growth. Escalate and help resolve customer concerns or complaints in a timely, professional manner. Collaboration Work closely with the Director of Sales, Head of Science, and Operations to support retention and new business initiatives.
Requirements Qualifications:
Required Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional, customer-centric approach. Bachelor's degree Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, remote, startup environment. Detail-oriented with solid organizational and time-management skills. Willingness to travel scheduled industry events and trade shows. Basic proficiency with CRM software and other sales/customer tools (or ability to learn quickly). Preferred 1+ years of experience in sales, customer service, laboratory, R/D technical services customer-facing role; medical device or contract sterilization industry a plus. Familiarity with
ISO 13485
2016 standards or medical device/quality regulations. Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or related certification in sales/customer service. Prior experience generating new business (cold outreach, prospecting, or lead qualification). Potential to grow into a more senior sales role as the company scales.
