About the Role We are a growing interior products, cabinetry, and countertops company seeking a driven and customer-focused Residential Cabinetry Sales & Design Consultant to help grow our residential cabinetry division. This person will be responsible for working with customers, developing cabinet designs, preparing quotes, and coordinating with our showroom and production team to ensure projects move smoothly from the initial consultation through ordering. This is a split-environment role. Your primary workspace will be at our cabinet shop, with scheduled appointments at our main showroom and visits to customer homes as needed. You will work directly with our Commercial Millwork & Residential Cabinetry Division Manager and play an important role in developing and improving our residential cabinetry operation.
What You'll Do:
Sales & Customer Consultation Work with showroom staff to identify, qualify, and follow up with residential cabinetry leads. Meet with homeowners and contractors to understand project needs, design preferences, and budgets. Guide customers through cabinet styles, countertops, hardware, finishes, and other options. Present and recommend premium and custom cabinetry solutions. Build strong customer relationships and provide consistent communication throughout the project. Design & Estimating Create cabinet layouts and designs using 2020 Design software. Review floor plans, project dimensions, photos, and other information to develop preliminary designs. Visit customer homes for consultations, photos, and preliminary measurements when needed. Prepare estimates, proposals, and design presentations. Make revisions based on customer feedback and help guide projects toward approval and ordering. Project & Production Coordination Serve as the main connection between the customer, showroom, residential project management, procurement, and production. Work with the division manager to review project requirements, pricing, production capacity, and timelines. Ensure orders are complete and accurate before being sent to procurement and production. Follow established procedures for approvals, deposits, final measurements, purchasing, and production. Communicate project details and scheduling expectations clearly to both customers and the production team. Division Growth Help develop and improve the sales and design process for residential cabinetry. Identify opportunities to increase cabinetry, countertop, and custom millwork sales. Help maximize the use of our in-house production capabilities. Contribute ideas for improving customer service, efficiency, and overall profitability. What We're Looking For Experience in cabinetry, kitchen and bath design, interior products, flooring, or related sales is preferred. Experience with 2020 Design or similar design software is a plus. We are willing to train the right candidate. Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills. Ability to read basic floor plans and create rough layouts. Comfortable working with customers, presenting design options, and selling premium products. Ability to manage multiple projects, follow up with leads, and work independently.
