ROLE OVERVIEW
This role blends inside sales, proactive outreach, and customer service into a single customer-facing position. You will act as a dedicated representative for Tesla owners, guiding them from first inquiry through build completion while coordinating internally to ensure a world-class experience. You are the connective tissue between the customer, sales, operations, and fulfillment teams.
TURN YOUR AUTOMOTIVE OBSESSION INTO A CAREER
Unplugged Performance is the world's leading builder of high-performance and luxury upgrades for Tesla. Every day, Tesla owners from around the world reach out to us to make their car faster, sharper, and more beautiful, and you'd be the person they talk to first. You'll spend your days helping people spec suspension, wheels, aero, and brakes for their cars, then walking alongside them from the first question through delivery and beyond. If you love Teslas, love cars, and love the feeling of helping someone get exactly what they wanted, this role was built for you.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
(DAY-TO-DAY) Sales & Outreach Use CRM religiously (Close.io experience strongly preferred) to track every interaction, follow-up, and opportunity Talk with current and prospective customers by phone, email, chat, and social media, and help them choose the right upgrades for their car and their goals Work warm and cold leads with equal energy, and turn both into customers who are thrilled with what they bought Proactively call, email, and text customers to: Follow up on inbound leads Re-engage existing customers Introduce newly released products relevant to their vehicle or build Convert inquiries into booked appointments, orders, and long-term customer relationships Upsell and cross-sell appropriately based on customer goals, vehicle use, and build stage Maintain pipeline hygiene, deal stages, and accurate notes in CRM Own the follow-up cadence after the sale. Every customer knows where their order stands, what happens next, and when, because you told them before they had to ask Tesla Expertise & Brand Representation Be an active, credible presence in Tesla owner communities: Facebook groups, forums, Instagram, YouTube comments, and Reddit. You build real relationships there and turn them into customers Understand Tesla models, trims, generations, and common upgrade paths Speak fluently about Tesla culture, ownership mindset, and performance expectations Represent the brand with confidence, credibility, and enthusiasm Educate customers rather than "hard sell" them. You evoke the trusted advisor mindset. Operations & Internal Coordination Work closely with Operations, Warehouse, and Install teams to: Confirm inventory availability Track shipping and delivery status Coordinate install schedules, drop-offs, and pickups Ensure orders are entered correctly and completely to avoid downstream errors Flag potential issues early (backorders, delays, incompatibilities) and communicate solutions Maintain alignment between what was sold and what is being fulfilled
WHAT YOU BRING
Sales experience, with commission-based sales experience preferred An active personal social media presence and a Facebook account you actually use. You'll be interacting with customers and enthusiast communities directly, and you're comfortable doing that as yourself Proven ability to build trust in online communities and convert that trust into business, whether that's in Facebook groups, forums, Discord servers, or comment sections A strong automotive background, professional or personal. Tesla or EV knowledge is a big plus A real understanding of what makes a great customer experience, before the sale and long after it Serious organization. You keep a follow-up cadence, you don't let anyone fall through the cracks, and you close the loop every time A lot of patience. Enthusiasts ask a lot of questions, builds take time, and the best advisors stay steady through all of it Clear, friendly written and verbal communication, and a real drive to take care of people Comfort working in Excel, email, and web-based order and CRM systems Availability for occasional overtime and weekends during busy periods A valid California driver's license with a clean driving record, since you'll move customer cars A strong drive to be the best in the world at what you do Desire to work in-office 5 days a week with other awesome people Strongly Preferred / Nice to Have Experience managing high-dollar or custom automotive builds Prior account management or inside sales experience Familiarity with e-commerce, order fulfillment, or logistics workflows Ability to read build sheets, invoices, and part compatibility Understanding of wheels, tires, suspension, brakes, and EV performance
WHAT THIS ROLE IS REALLY LIKE
We'll be straight with you: this job is demanding. The volume is high, the customers are passionate and detail-oriented, and the standard we hold ourselves to is the highest in the industry. You'll juggle inbound leads, active builds, and post-sale follow-up at the same time. It's also one of the most rewarding seats in the business. You get to be the person who helps someone build their dream car, you build a real book of customers who come back and refer their friends, and your earnings are directly tied to how well you take care of them. The people who thrive here are the ones who genuinely enjoy the work, not just the paycheck.
