Job Description

Job Summary The Counter Sales Representative serves as the primary point of contact for customers renting heavy equipment. The ideal candidate is sales-driven, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional service while supporting branch growth and profitability. Key Responsibilities Greet customers and assist with equipment rental inquiries, reservations, and rental agreements. Create and maintain temporary rental accounts and corporate customer accounts. Verify customer information and ensure all rental documentation is complete and accurate. Recommend appropriate equipment, attachments, and accessories based on customer needs. Upsell rental protection packages, damage waivers, and additional services to maximize revenue and customer value. Process rental contracts, invoices, payments, and account updates using company software systems. Coordinate with yard personnel and service technicians to ensure equipment availability and readiness. Resolve customer concerns and rental issues promptly and professionally. Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, businesses, and walk-in customers. Follow up on leads, reservations, and existing customer accounts to generate repeat business. Maintain accurate customer records and account information. Monitor equipment returns and communicate any damage or maintenance concerns. Support branch sales goals through proactive customer engagement and product knowledge. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional rental counter environment. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and rental regulations. Qualifications Previous customer service, sales, rental industry, or construction-related experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer and data entry skills. Experience handling cash, credit card transactions, and invoicing preferred. Knowledge of construction equipment and tools is a plus. Excellent problem-solving and customer-relations skills.
