Job Description

Wild Local Seafood is hiring multiple part-time Farmers Market Sales Representatives to represent our Santa Barbara seafood business at farmers markets throughout the Los Angeles area. You do not need previous seafood knowledge, sales experience, or farmers market experience to apply. We provide complete training on our seafood, fishing practices, sustainability standards, customer service, and sales process. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working outdoors, meeting people, and being part of the farmers market community. You'll sell locally caught, sustainable seafood while helping customers learn more about where their food comes from. Pay and Schedule $20-$22 per hour, depending on experience Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate for hours worked beyond eight in a shift Typical shifts are approximately 12 hours Shifts generally begin between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m. and end between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. Applicants must have consistent weekly availability on at least one weekend day—either every Saturday or every Sunday Availability on both weekend days is welcome but not required The paid shift begins when you arrive at our east side Santa Barbara location. It ends after you return from the market and all closing duties are complete. Company vehicles are provided for transportation to and from assigned markets. What You'll Do Safely drive a company-provided, full-size pickup truck between Santa Barbara and assigned farmers markets Load and unload seafood, coolers, ice, and market equipment Set up and break down the farmers market booth Sell seafood and provide friendly, helpful customer service Share information about our seafood, fishing methods, and commitment to sustainability after completing training Process transactions and keep the booth clean, organized, and well stocked Build relationships with new and returning customers Help grow sales at your assigned market What We're Looking For Consistent weekly availability on either Saturday or Sunday A valid driver's license and confidence driving a full-size pickup truck Ability to safely lift at least 50 pounds and move coolers filled with seafood and ice Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently An outgoing, positive, and professional personality Comfort working outdoors and standing for extended periods Willingness to learn about seafood, sustainability, and customer service Ability to work an approximately 12-hour market-day shift An interest in seafood, fishing, surfing, cooking, sustainability, or local food is a plus—but it is absolutely not required. We are primarily looking for dependable people with a positive attitude who are willing to learn. We will teach you everything you need to know about our seafood and how to represent Wild Local Seafood confidently. Why Work With Us? Wild Local Seafood brings responsibly harvested seafood directly from local fishermen to Southern California communities. By shortening the distance between the boat and the customer, we support our fishing community, strengthen local food systems, and reduce the environmental impact of the traditional seafood supply chain.
Team members receive:
