The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in the lumber and building materials industry , with a strong understanding of building products and a proven ability to provide outstanding service to contractors, remodelers, builders, and homeowners. This position combines inside sales, customer service, estimating, order management, and product knowledge . We are looking for someone who enjoys working with customers, solving problems, and helping customers find the right products for their projects. Key Responsibilities Assist contractors, builders, remodelers, and homeowners with product selection, pricing, and project needs. Provide inside sales support for lumber and a wide range of building materials. Develop and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships. Prepare accurate quotes and estimates for lumber, decking, windows, doors, trim, moulding, millwork, and related products. Follow up on quotes, special orders, and customer requests in a timely and professional manner. Assist customers with product questions, availability, specifications, and order details. Coordinate job site visits, showroom appointments, and installation-related needs when required. Review orders carefully to ensure accuracy before processing. Coordinate deliveries by providing clear and accurate delivery instructions. Pull and stage merchandise for customer pickups and deliveries. Process customer deposits, payments, and credit card transactions accurately. Assist with resolving customer concerns and finding practical solutions. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional showroom and sales area. Work closely with other team members to ensure orders are completed accurately and customers receive excellent service. Perform other sales and customer service duties as needed. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in inside sales, customer service, or sales support within the lumber and building materials industry. Strong knowledge of building materials and related products. Familiarity with trim, moulding, interior and exterior millwork, doors, windows, decking, and lumber. Experience working with professional contractors, builders, remodelers, or homeowners preferred. Ability to read and understand basic blueprints or construction plans is a plus. Comfortable using computer-based POS, order entry, estimating, or inventory systems. Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Professional and confident telephone manner. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately prepare quotes and orders. Ability to manage multiple customers, orders, and priorities in a busy environment. Dependable, organized, and able to follow through on customer commitments. Comfortable handling customer payments, deposits, and credit card transactions. Positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to contribute wherever needed. Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 70 lbs. when necessary. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and work on your feet for extended periods.
