Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a motivated, results-driven Carrier Sales Representative to join our growing freight brokerage team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, qualifying, negotiating, and booking reliable motor carriers for Full Truckload (FTL) and Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipments across North America. The ideal candidate has strong negotiation skills, an existing carrier network, and the ability to build long-term carrier relationships while ensuring exceptional service for our customers. Key Responsibilities Source and develop qualified carrier capacity for FTL and LTL freight. Negotiate competitive rates with carriers while maintaining company profitability. Build and maintain long-term relationships with owner-operators, small fleets, and national carriers. Verify carrier qualifications, including active operating authority, insurance coverage, safety ratings, and compliance requirements. Book and dispatch carriers for customer shipments. Track shipments from pickup through delivery and proactively communicate updates. Resolve service issues, delays, and exceptions quickly and professionally. Maintain accurate records of carrier communications, rates, and shipment details within the Transportation Management System (TMS). Continuously expand the carrier network through prospecting, referrals, and industry resources. Collaborate with customer sales representatives and operations teams to secure capacity and ensure on-time service. Monitor market trends, lane pricing, and capacity conditions to make informed purchasing decisions. Ensure compliance with all company policies, FMCSA regulations, and customer requirements. Preferred Skills Existing carrier relationships and transportation network. Understanding of DAT, HIGHWAY, RMIS, Carrier411, or similar carrier sourcing and compliance platforms. Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously. Self-motivated with a competitive, sales-oriented mindset. Performance Expectations Secure qualified carrier capacity for customer freight. Meet daily and weekly booking goals. Maintain high on-time pickup and delivery performance. Build and retain a reliable carrier network. Achieve targeted profit margins through effective rate negotiation. Deliver exceptional customer and carrier service.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
