Full Job Description Job Description:
The Sales Representative is responsible for handling customer inquiries, providing sales support, and driving sales of construction supplies and materials. This role requires a proactive, customer-focused approach, with an emphasis on building strong relationships, learning about new products, and ensuring the timely and accurate processing of orders. The Sales Representative works closely with other employees, including the Yard Manager, Sales Specialists, and Sales Estimators, to meet customer needs and achieve sales goals. The SR will report to the Director of Sales.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Inquiries and Relationship Management:
Respond to inbound customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, providing detailed information about construction supplies and materials. Proactively visiting and reaching out to existing customers and new leads to fostering relationships, understanding their needs, and identifying sales opportunities. Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer contact information and sales history in the CRM system.Sales and Order Processing:
Offer product recommendations and provide quotes to customers, ensuring that all specifications, quantities, and delivery requirements are clearly understood. Process orders accurately, entering them into the system and ensuring all customer information (pricing, product, shipping details) is correct. Follow up on outstanding orders and quotes, closing sales and ensuring that customers are satisfied with the service provided.Product Knowledge and Learning:
Continuously learn about new products, industry trends, and innovations in construction supplies to provide customers with expert advice and solutions. Stay informed on competitors' products, services, and market conditions to better position the company's offerings. Collaboration withOther Departments:
Work closely with the logistics team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers. Collaborate with the inventory management team to track product availability, identify shortages, and recommend alternative solutions when necessary. Communicate with the sales team to share insights into customer preferences, trends, and opportunities.Customer Service and Problem Resolution:
Address and resolve customer issues or complaints in a professional and efficient manner, striving to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Handle product returns, exchanges, and warranty claims in accordance with company policies.Sales Goals and Performance:
Meet or exceed individual sales targets, KPIs, and goals set by the Sales Manager. Track daily, weekly, and monthly sales metrics and report performance to the Sales Manager.Administrative Tasks:
Maintain organized and accurate records of all sales transactions and communications with customers. Assist with inventory management by identifying product trends, restocking needs, and potential shortages.Team Support:
Participate in team meetings to discuss sales strategies, product updates, and market insights. Support team members in achieving overall company sales goals by collaborating on customer solutions and sharing knowledge.Working Conditions:
Full-time position, 7:15 AM-4:15 PM, Monday to Friday. On-call occasionally during weekends. Office and warehouse-based work with visits to local construction sites or customer meetings and accounts. Interaction with customers, vendors, and internal teams. This description outlines the general duties and responsibilities of the Sales Representative.
