Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Building Materials Outside Sales Associate to join our team full-time. This role is ideal for someone with experience in lumber, millwork, or construction materials who enjoys working directly with contractors and homeowners to support their projects. You will be responsible for assisting customers, generating sales, and ensuring a smooth order process from quote to delivery. Key Responsibilities Assist contractors, builders, and developers with product selection and project needs Prepare accurate quotes, estimates, and sales orders Develop and maintain strong customer relationships Follow up on leads and open quotes to close sales Coordinate with yard, purchasing, and delivery teams Stay up to date on product knowledge (lumber, millwork, windows, doors, trim, etc.) Support showroom and in-store merchandising as needed Qualifications 3+ years of experience in building materials, lumberyard, millwork, or construction sales preferred Strong knowledge of construction materials and terminology and understanding of project blueprints Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Experience with estimating, takeoffs, or order entry systems is a plus Proficiency with basic computer systems (email, order entry, POS/ERP systems) Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary + commission (based on experience) Health benefits (if applicable—adjust based on what you offer) Opportunities for growth within the company and additional benefits to be discussed Work Schedule Full-time Monday-Friday Work Location Hillside Lumber, Inc.
