The Business Development Representative - Home Health is responsible for driving growth in geriatric home health services by developing strong referral relationships and expanding patient census. This role requires in-depth knowledge of eligibility, documentation requirements, and referral processes. The representative serves as a key liaison between the agency, healthcare providers, and community partners.Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources including hospitals, physicians, discharge planners, case managers, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), and VA coordinators. Promote home health services to increase referrals. Actively recruit qualified Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Occupational Therapists (OT), and Physical Therapists (PT) . Understand VA referral processes, authorizations, and documentation requirements. Educate referral partners on agency services and qualification criteria. Ensure referrals meet compliance and payer requirements before intake. Collaborate with intake, clinical, and operations teams to ensure timely processing of referrals. Monitor referral pipeline and follow up on pending cases. Support smooth patient admissions and continuity of care. Build long-term partnerships with key accounts and referral sources. Participate in health fairs, senior events, veteran-focused programs, and community outreach activities. Track referral activity, conversion rates, and census growth. Provide regular reports to leadership on business development outcomes. Analyze market trends and competitor activity.Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred)Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in home health business development or healthcare marketing Knowledge of geriatric patient careRequired Skills:
Strong understanding of Medicare home health guidelines Familiarity with VA healthcare system and referral process Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Strong sales, negotiation, and presentation abilities Ability to work independently and meet growth targets Proficiency in CRM systems andMicrosoft Office Work Environment:
Field-based with frequent travel to referral sources and community partners Some in-office responsibilities for reporting and coordinationPay:
