Sales Development Representative - Insurance Agency Position Overview We are seeking a motivated, competitive, and customer-focused Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our growing insurance agency team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with people, developing relationships, identifying customer needs, and working toward measurable sales goals. As a Sales Development Representative, you will help generate new business by contacting prospective customers, following up on leads, identifying insurance needs, and creating opportunities for our licensed sales team. Depending on licensing and experience, you may also assist customers with insurance quotes and product recommendations. This is a performance-driven position with opportunities to earn additional income through commissions and bonuses while developing valuable sales and insurance-industry experience. Key Responsibilities Contact prospective customers through outbound phone calls, text messages, email, referrals, and lead follow-up. Respond promptly to new leads and maintain consistent follow-up throughout the sales process. Build rapport with prospective customers and identify their insurance and financial protection needs. Schedule qualified appointments and create sales opportunities. Assist with generating quotes and presenting insurance options when appropriately licensed. Identify opportunities to help customers with multiple insurance needs, including auto, homeowners, renters, life, and other available products. Educate customers on the importance of protecting their income, family, property, and financial future. Maintain accurate documentation of customer conversations, leads, appointments, and follow-up activities. Meet established daily, weekly, and monthly activity and production goals. Participate in sales meetings, coaching sessions, role-playing, and ongoing training. Develop a strong understanding of agency products, sales processes, systems, and customer service standards. Work collaboratively with the sales and service teams to provide an excellent customer experience. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Highly motivated and goal-oriented. Organized and able to manage multiple leads and follow-up activities. Persistent without sacrificing professionalism or customer experience. Comfortable working in a performance-based environment. Able to communicate clearly by phone, email, text, and in person. Interested in developing a long-term career in sales, insurance, or financial services. Previous sales, customer service, call center, retail, hospitality, or insurance experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate. Licensing Candidates may be required to obtain applicable Property & Casualty and/or Life & Health insurance licenses based on the responsibilities of the position. Licensing requirements and expectations will be discussed during the interview process. Compensation This position offers a combination of base compensation plus performance-based commission and bonus opportunities. Compensation is designed to reward consistent activity, new customer acquisition, production, and achievement of agency goals. Specific compensation, commission structure, bonus opportunities, and performance expectations will be reviewed during the interview and onboarding process. Training & Development New team members will receive training and coaching focused on: Insurance products and coverage fundamentals Prospecting and lead management Customer needs discovery Phone and communication skills Quote preparation and presentation Objection handling Follow-up strategies Cross-selling and relationship development Sales goals and performance management Our goal is to develop team members who can confidently communicate with customers, identify protection needs, and build lasting customer relationships. Schedule Full-Time | Monday-Friday Additional schedule expectations may apply based on agency needs, customer appointments, training, and sales activities.
