POSITION SUMMARY
The Automotive Sales Consultant serves as the primary contact between customers and the dealership s sales team, representing 24 Auto Group s Core Values of Exceptional Customer Service, Honesty, Integrity & Respect in every interaction. This role is responsible for guiding customers through the purchase and delivery process with transparency, professionalism, and enthusiasm. Sales Consultants are expected to master the dealership s full product line, digital retail tools, and CRM system to ensure timely, accurate follow-up and the highest levels of customer satisfaction. The position works closely with Sales Management, F&I, and Service to achieve volume, gross, and CSI targets while fostering long-term relationships that build brand loyalty.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Engagement & Sales Process Greet and assist customers promptly with a professional, friendly demeanor. Identify customer needs through conversation, qualification, and product knowledge. Present vehicles, demonstrate features, and accompany customers on test drives. Prepare sales documentation, trade appraisals, and deal jackets accurately with Sales Managers.
Manage the full delivery process:
Confirm vehicle readiness, fuel, cleanliness, documentation, and registration several hours before delivery. Review vehicle features, warranty, and first maintenance schedule with the customer. Introduce customers to the Service Department and review the Service Menu. Emphasize the importance of the Customer Satisfaction Survey during delivery. Coordinate pickup of post-delivery items and registration documents. Ensure every customer interaction aligns with 24 Auto Group s commitment to transparency and integrity. Respond to customer concerns quickly and professionally to ensure complete satisfaction Maintain high Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores per manufacturer and dealer standards. Compliance & Documentation Follow dealership and OEM policies regarding pricing, disclosure, and advertising accuracy. Maintain compliance with all dealership and regulatory requirements including:
  • FTC Safeguards Rule
  • protect all customer data and personal information.
  • Red Flags Identity Theft Program
  • verify identity on all credit transactions.
  • Used Car Rule
  • ensure the Buyers Guide is accurate and properly displayed.
Maintain accurate deal paperwork for timely funding and audit readiness. Professionalism & Team Collaboration Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dealership s uniform and grooming standards. Support team members by assisting with showroom organization and vehicle display. Participate in ongoing product and compliance training. Uphold 24 Auto Group s culture of teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred. 2
  • 5 years of experience in retail sales role, preferably automotive sales.
Proven ability to meet performance targets in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. Experience with CRM and dealership management systems preferred. Skills & Competencies Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong listening and consultative sales ability. Confidence in handling objections and closing sales professionally. Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and follow-up skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a positive attitude. Technical Proficiency Proficiency with dealership CRM tools (e.g., VinSolutions, Dealer Socket, or similar). Familiarity with digital retailing tools and electronic signing platforms. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to use OEM systems and inventory management software. Certificates/Licenses A valid driver s license is required, and the individual must be insurable by Route 24 Auto Group s insurance carrier.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent standing, walking, entering/exiting vehicles, and interacting with customers. Extended hours required during peak sales periods and month-end closings. Frequent outdoor work and occasional snow removal required. Regular transitions between indoor and outdoor environments in varied climates. Must manage the pace and stress of a customer-facing sales role. Constant internet, email, and phone usage. Must be accurate and expedient with responses to clients.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports directly to the Sales Manager and works under the general direction of the General Sales Manager and General Manager.
